immigration-office

I`ve been here for 2 months now and have to extend my touristvisa for 1 more month. Since the immigrationoffice in Patong are gone, I wonder if anyone know the adress to the one in Phuket Town?
Thanks!

I just found it myself. If anyone else wonder, It`s located in Phuket Road beside the Public Library and oposite the Marine Police Station.

Thanks guys.
Much better to do it here in Patong. Someone told me it was destroyed by the tidal wave, but good to know that they have reopened...........

Cool.. didnt expect that to be reopened..

Also agreed the local guys in the Patong office thend to be very friendly and helpfull.. Immigration is all about how they want to interpret the rules and they seem to be easier.

Extension of tourist visa is an easy task and I dont think it is a big difference between Patong and Phuket City Immigration, I have used both for various tasks. I also have to give them a visit, I need a new "Notification of stay" paper from them to get my white number plate for the car. (I am still using the red one and it is technically ilegal to have red plate after 3 months)

I can say lot of things was more easy in the past, if you didnt had a tabian baan you could buy someone else's for 500 baht, now they dont offer that service, lol. (Tabian baan is required for notificaiton of stay document which you need when you buy a vehicle in Thailand.)

I still know people (not immigration tho) who will let you use a tabien baan as a place of residence for that paper.. Approx same cost thogh they wrap it up in doing all the regwork too (often even if essentials are missing)..

Red plates.. New car.. Sounds like things are going ok

Agreed for simple stuff (extension of stay) you would get exactly the same ruling from either place as its within the basics..

Thumbs up Directions

From the beach end of Soi Bangla turn north and walk for about two minutes and you will come to the Imigration Office. It is on the beach side of the road and had a large sign post outside.

If that sounds confusing - it is between the Soi Bangla junction and the Swirdidra??? junction on the beach side.

All you need for a one month extension is 1900 Baht and a photo. They are user friendly and you get processed in a matter of minutes.

Go to the white watch tower on the beach...you are now very close to the
immigration office...45 sec. slow walk..after the stairs...the last one on left
before beach road...
10 days extend in patong...15 days in phuket...1900 baht either way

Alan is on a longer stay visa than a 30 day entry permit (not a visa technically) so he can get 30 days added for that price (applies to non imm O and tourist 60 dayers)..

A 'visa on arrival' for 30 days for most of us can be extended (I am informed) 14 days but its up to the officer concerned.. I know I have had 14 days given on one a couple of years back on Beach Rd but I think they kind of know my face and I was happy to pay 200 baht for the photo to be done there which is thier lunch money..

I needed to move my visa to a new passport recently and popped down there, found them to be really friendly, apart from the fact that he couldn't find the damn stamp...off to Phuket town it was then.

Talking of immigration offices, did a run to Ranong last week with a couple of mates, intention was to have an early night (yeah right!) and then get out the door at 8am so as not to rush too much. We got home at 7am and didn't wake up til 11:30am and would have binned it for the next day, but I was on my last day so had to go. We kicked the girls out into the midday sun (not happy!) and hit the road. The weather was awful which made us even slower getting there. Eventually made it at 3:30pm, when the office shuts at 4pm so basically we had less than half an hour to get stamped out, over and back on the boat and back to be stamped in - no chance. My mate who speaks very good Thai had a chat and made some bullshit up about my other mates sick child blah blah. They seem to be impressed that he had good Thai and ended up having a laugh with us - which is the first time I've seen them smile/laugh!! Turns out that the office shuts at 6pm not 4pm...they just put that up to stop people turning up late in the day Thought someone might like to know that if they are late going up one day - although don't blame me if they are actually shut!

Office on the beach opens at 10am, not sure what time it closes. If you get there on the dot and beat the queue you will be in and out in 5 min.

Luckily, my school let me run down to extend my visa this morning (arrived rather soaked going into Patong from Chalong in the pouring rain on the bike -- the officers got a good laugh out of how wet I was as well; the rain gear didn't work so good because it was too windy).

Anyway, the current hours are:

10am - 4pm; plus, they break for lunch from noon 'til one (basically the same schedule I have)
