Work permits...
May sound a stupid question,but if you buy half a bar,but are not physically working,do you still need a permit?

Not sure If I am right ... but I think a farang barowner is not allowed to work in his own bar in Thailand according to Thai law.

You can work in your bar only if you jump through all the hoops for a WP and min wage etc.. The hassle is that there are 'issues' to do with VAT (many suppliers are outside the loop) and so then your declarations are low and under the min levels..
Of course you are allowed to sit in your bar and tell your staff what to do.. Thats managing your investment and accepted..
