Question need some info. please.......

Hi,
I'm a single white male living in Michigan in the US.
I want to move to Phuket or Bangkok area. I have lots of questions and was hoping I could meet some others who have made the move and wouldn't mind helping me out.

Thanks;
Troy

Movement

I was about to do the same thing and sort of backed out at the last minute. Was looking at Apts and had found a lawyer to review my leases etc but changed my mind and decided to just do the holiday thing every two or three months. I will, however start looking again this summer....
Your biggest issue is visa. I got a A-O retirement visa...The Retirement Visa is no longer a big deal, if you qualify.
DO Not go by web sites....get hold of the nearest Thai office and they can do the whole thing for you...Very Simple.
I have a Ret Visa and the address is no longer valid, no problem you must check in once a year. Unless you'll want to avoid Visa runs a Ret visa doesn't really help cause you stand in line anyway......No Thai Passport...into the Falang line with or without Visa. When I renew my Visa that will be another thing as I must register an address and a few papers. I will be able to do that in Patong at the Tourist Office on beach road.
For Americans the Retirement Visa is very easy and we are most favored in business dealings. Hum...I guess the world gets the picture with Cobra Gold...Uncle Sam is especially protective of LOS

As to the rest...You only need money!
There will be plenty of Honey waiting to latch on to the Newbie Falang....

So Who says Thai girls are flat chested!
Look at these Mai Thai Bar Hotties......

Hi Troy,

How to do depends on what you want to do here in Thailand. Are you looking for work, run business or just 'holiday'?

In my case, I did the the following steps:

1. Entered Thailand with tourist visa (60+30 days)
2. After 3 months of holiday, I went to Penang and Thai embassy
for a double entry tourist visa (thus, 6 months)
3. Registered a company in Thailand
4. Back to Penang and Thai embassy and apply for Non Immigrant Business visa (NON-B), Multiple entries
5. Apply for work permit (NON-B is required!)

Now I renew my NON-B VISA once a year but I have to do visa runs every 3 months and also renew work permit at the same time. It is possible to have visa extension and avoid the visa runs but now 'tea money' is required to get approved, I dont want support that.

hi Schmeen
i think you have to change Showing threads from last 30 days to last 100 days the last year or the beginning.to get it all you have to go to the option.from the beginning.
hope this helps you.
