Swedish TV in Thailand
You Swedish expats can watch SVT Europa in Thailand. It is a mix of Svt1 and Svt2 and also 2 radio channels, Radio Sweden and P4.
They are transmitting on Thaicom 3. 78,5° east.
You need an 2,4 meter parabol anntenna and a digital viaccess reciver and also a LNB for the C-band.
Frequency 3640 H. FEC 3/4. Symbol Rate 28066.
You also need an subscription.... If you dont knew some BM that can program a smartcard for you

Just programmed my funcard to decode TPS via hotbird(13° East)
Works a charm but too much porn...
Hooked up another dish with 2 lnb's so I get both astra and hotbird, in addition to 1° West and 5° East, from hotbird I get one Thai channel (TGN)but I know there is one more available to view for free on that sat..
I also get SVT Europe with same card from 5° East I think, not sure if that would work on any other satellite but suspect it would
Maybe I'll switch to Dreambox in the future so I can get more channels and even do some cardshare but I'm happy as is for now..

There is often ladyboys on Triple X on Hispasat 30° E and on the same satellit you have ofcourse Taquilla XY. It works fine with a Dragon module.
junkhouse, you need a motor for your antenna, but Safeass can have a fixed parabol on 30° E

Wow, that was interesting.
Sent an email to SVT 5 years ago and asked if it was possible to receive SVT in Asia, because I knew it was possible in Europe. But at that time, it was not possible.
I just need to figure it out where to buy this parabol and receiver and who can install it for me. I guess Junkhouse can get me a card

Do you have any adress to PSI Sat?
Do you think I can use the receiver I bought from you to receive Swedish channels?
This is very interesting for me, especially now when I have a daughter and I want her to watch and hear Swedish too. (Not only Thai and English)

XSAT CDTV430, some odd receiver I bought from LivinLOS. I use it for UBC, have no idea if it is the same standard SVT use.

Ok, called a PSI Sat dealer and they will come and look tomorrow.
If I understand correctly they charge 4500 baht for the dish and 4000 baht for the receiver + installation fee.
I will show them the specs posted here to make sure they understand what I want.

Nicke.. Spend some time reading fist..
Theres some serious bits of kit out there that have HD recording solutions and can handle many mnay types od decryption systems (without paying) and have specialist firmware cracking teams etc (dreambox etc)..
I would spend the extra on a piece of kit like that as it grows with you and works for longer.. I know the box you had off of me has 3 different types of decoder options.. Need to look in the manual to see what types of card / encryptions it offers...

Well, I find more info about the XSAT receiver I use now, look like I dont need to buy an additional box. It has viaccess in front.
It's great news, lot of receivers sold here dont have viaccess, most are for FreeTV or UBC (irdeto2). (Have done lot of surfing the last hour(s))

When I bought my reciver, a Humax 5400, I knewed it will take all different systems if I changed the software in it. It has an embedded irdeto, but with a funcard it will eat all. It is old but now I can run it without any card. I put in an emulator in its software and that will do the trick. When there is keys changes on a provider, Ill send the new keys form my pc to my Humax with a nollmodemcable. The cable is always connected so it takes 5 seconds.
Here in Sweden we have a provider (Viasat) that has changed encryption to NDS, and that is inpossible to hack. Í singed up for them for 2 years. I got one free reciver, dish, lnb and a presentcard for 7800 baht.
I have not connected that shit reciver. I bougth a dragon module to my Humax and put in the serialnumber from the free reciver to the dragon cam.
The NDS card needs to have the mother reciver to work.
I dont knew anything of the satellite world in Asia. I cant log their signales.
Nicke, jag har skickat en present till dig

Thank you very much Repeter.
I guess my dish will arrive in 4-5 days, and I am looking forward to the gift from you. Thanks a lot.

They installed the satellite dish today, huh, 2.4m was huge. Didn't realise that first.
I am watching Swedish TV now, the receiver decode the channel for me and I dont need an external card. I can update new keys from the menues.
Everything including installation costed me 11,300 baht. In Sweden it would cost a lot more.

I wanted to replace the IP Star dish but that space was not enough for this dish so it is on the balcony now. Most of the balcony is still usable so no big deal for me.
I have two receivers now, not so bad after all, we can watch two different satellite channels at the same time. The new receiver is also connected to the bedroom and has all Thai channels aswell.
