Out of curiosity, I asked how much to rent the new shops opposite Christins massage.

They ask for 300,000 key money for 3 years + 65,000 baht/rent per month.

Patong is going crazy...

The soi where Patong gym is located had similar shops before and they asked for 15,000 baht/month + accomodation above. That would be normal rates, or even if they asked for 25,000 would be ok.

I have to ask the price for the new shops at Sawatdirak road, but they are 3 storey buildings I think.

My GF was into doing a clothes shop idea.. I didnt mind the idea even though I know its a vanity project.. Went and asked for some rent prices (her asking me going no where near) for places that had just some basic foot traffic..

Insane IMHO.. How your supposed to make money after rent and key is rediculous..

I dont know if you can rent over there.
I know they want to sell them for about 9 mill. each. Also a crazy price

Just another side note as comparison...

The shops located opposite Shark Club building and on the road between rat-u-thit and Nanai (were Jungceylon is being built now) were also rented out for 15,000 baht/month. We had gym, sauna, internet cafe, restaurants, clothes, beuaty saloon among other things there.

I cant understand how people are going to make money with rent at 65,000 baht + keymoney. It is really crazy and also no good for Patong, it will continue make prices go up and at the end it is the tourists who has to pay and when Patong is heavily overpriced they will chose another destination.

Same for the bars, the prices has gone up every year and it is already too expensive so lot of people lose money, even before the tsunami.
