Apartment/house close to Bangla

Im thinking about renting a house/apartment in walking dictanse from Bangla. Im lazy, so for me walking dictanse is max 3-5min. Mybe something in soi san sea bay or Rat-u-thid road. I also need space to park my car outside......And I dont want to pay more than 20k a month..............Internet is a must.....If anyone know of a place like that, please let me know.
Thanks.

Very little that close Gier.. Baan Benjamins sometimes has houses but the rents seem more 30k than 20 due to being where they are (and I dont think they are worth that ind of money)..

Just curious but why do you feel like being down in the noise, surely the bike ride or MC taxi isnt too tough..

Let me know if he's got two Faulty............I am getting very little response from my emails to so called 'realtors' out there. Wellta is keeping me posted on some Patong houses, if she reads this forum then.....Thanks Wellta!

Not near Geir though as he is a very bad man 55555555

A lot of realtors really dont like dealing with the rental market.. Lots of work and not much money.. Add in that the ones that do touch that market are at the lower end of the food chain and as such are not the ones really internet equipped and going..

Welta is good so I hear, Max found a few guys houses, Rudi and Jerry have thier fingers in some higher end ones (Hillside residence and Phuket Beverly Hills) and high priced ones..

The best of the rental market is to be found trawling the sois and checking signs.. An advert in the Gazette doesnt hurt either. One opf my mates just secured a nice clean 2 bed apartment back on Sai Nam yen for 7000 per month !!!

Thanks LIL and good luck to Geir, hope he finds something suitable.

I'll keep looking. I have the cash ready to roll. Just not sure wether to take a years rental yet as I get itchy feet when I sit around for too long anywhere. I just might have to pop over again and have another look around!! Shame!! 5555555 Cheers for the info LIL

Dont know, but I just like the thought of walking to 'work' every day. I know G rented a big house in san sea bay before for about 25k.
The noise is no problem for me as I dont go to sleep until at least 5 in the morning anyway. As you know I hate motorbikes, and drinking and driveing is never a good idea. I also saw an accedent in rat-u-thid last night, I was on a bike just behind them and it allways scares me. Lucky for them it wasent to bad....

I thought more like downtown Bagdad , nice beach but a long walk out over the sand when the tide is out.

Just been down the House shop here in Baghdad to see Mr Mustapha Mortgage and he has the perfect house for Geir, aparently it has to be 'viewed to be appreciated' I've attached a few pictures for you...............Enjoy!!

Photo 1: Guest bedroom, air-con, fully-furnished.
Photo 2: The neighbours, quiet, just the odd tribal fighting but promise to let you know before hand. Bring your own weapons.
Photo 3: Sea view (If you close your eyes and look hard enough)
Photo 4: Swimming pool, brand new, completed recently.
Photo 5: Guest room en-suite toilet, bit opulent, but can decorate to new owners taste.

Very special price my friend. Get in quick, I think there could be a bit of a rush for this one!

Went out looking for apartment today, and found some bungalows in the back of soi san sea bay. It was different cizes, but the biggest one had big kitchen/livingroom and bedroom with aicon. The big one was recently renewed and looked ok. They charged 26k for monthly rent, but if i booked for one year I could get it for 14k. The girl that showed me around wasent shure if it was included el and water, but i think so as i couldent see any kw-hour-meter outside. I will talk to the manager tomorrow.
So if its possible to get a phoneline, I will probably move there. Nice quiet soroundings just 2-3 min walk from my bar

Sounds great Geir and 14k sounds a fair price, 26k is too expensive for these houses. Great location.

Yes if its possible to get a phoneline I will take it, even if I have to pay extra for el and water.

And Denver, I was very tempted to take your house, but Im not shure if I could live with myself throwing you out in the street.........too soft hearted I guess

Im moving in to the bungalow on Sunday. Im geting a phoneline from TOT and highspeed ADSL for 1k a month. Sounds like a good deal. Dont know anything about the phone-company TOT, but it was the only company that had phonelines to offer in that area at the moment.
Anyone have some experience with TOT........good or bad......?

I had that package from TOT at the bar, absolute crap, and that was when the line could sync. Half the time it didnt. Pay a few more hundred baht a month and something abit decent.

I think this was the most expensive with speed 1024-512 or something like that...........there might have been one more expensive one, but Im not shure. They also had low speed from 500b and up....

Geir, I mean give TOT a miss. It is a great package as there is no metering on it, but every man and his dog is connected, and the response in Patong itself is totally crap. Have a look at JInet or even KSC. This assumes that you have a *clean* phone line, otherwise nothing you do will help.

Problem is theres not much in the little bit more expensive category... Only things I saw were 2000 baht JI compax packages (for 512) and you still have to pay for the goldcyber package even if you dont want it (its a bundled line and ISP service.. dont want the ISP.. tough !!!).. In other markets theres a selection of 1 - 2k providers but that seems lacking here with TOT lines..

So 3k for 512 v 1k for 1024.. And paying for the ISP and not using it just annoys me..

Mine is doing good for the last month... 800kbps of international bandwidth for sustained downloads (100mb).. Thats the best I have had in Thailand so far.. Drops off when it rains though !!!
