Weather In October..........
As Most Of Ye Know When It Comes To Organising My Tours I Like To Do Things A Long Time Ahead Of My Arrival Dates.i Never Do Things On The Spur Of The Moment !!!!!!!!!
Well Im Organised For Xmas And Songkran 2006.........but Looking At My Shift Roster For Dec 2006 And Early 2007 Its Not Possible To Go To Los Then....it Would Use Up To Much From My Holiday Bank..so What Im Planning On Doing Is Cancelling My July 2006 Tour And Going In October 2006 For 1 Month And Then Back To Los Again For Songkran 2007 !!!!!
I Know Everytime Of The Year Is Good In Los For Babes And Drink........what Im Wondering Would October Be Ok For Beach Time And Sun...ye Know Im A Lazy Bastard And That I Love My 3 Hrs On The Beach Relaxing Each Day...........
So Any Guy With Experience Of Being In Los During October.....yer Advice Will Be Well Appreciated....[expats Especially]
Cheers Ij

IJ,
I'm not an expat but - based upon my limited experience - I reckon that weather in October is unlikely to be worse than in July.
You'll probably get the odd shower (or two) but plenty of sunshine as well.
All the best

Hi IJ,
I was there for in October 2001, with 4 nights in Bangkok and 9 nights in the Phuket/Similan Islands area. Had a little rain one night in Bangkok but did not stop anything from going on in Patpong. The rest of the days in Bangkok were hot and sunny.
I was diving in the Similans for 5 days and it was fine then. Had 4 days after the liveaboard trip in Phuket doing a whole bunch of outdoor tours and every day was beautiful. Stayed at the Phuket Arcadia(now the Hilton) on Karon on one of the top floors and had a great view of the ocean and it was beautiful. The last night in Phuket it rained forever and lots of Patong and my hotel were flooded but the weather was clear and beautiful the next morning when we left Phuket, the only reminder of the rain were the flooded grounds at the resort and the beach road was flooded in places.

I have only been in LOS on time in late september early October, and most of time it was raining, so for me july is better, i know it also rain there, but not so much as October.
|
You'll enjoy Songkran then Bono
Pretty hot in April and only a few heavy showers usually at night.
Mind you you'll get wet during Songkran itself

Yes april, is still quiet dry. September should be worse then October. In October you can have all kind of scenarios. Normally it is raining once and a while for several hours. But not days in a row, like I experienced in september. That was really bad. Befining of November, I had some heavy showers, that I could not leave my room. That happened then twice in...3 weeks.
October, you expect everything, but if your are lucky, just a few showers here and there.

JONNY AS YOU KNOW I AM going los in 2 days i have made around 75% of my 20 visits to los around the last 2 weeks of october 1st week november and although have not been to phuket i can say that in all my visits to pattaya ,hua hin and samui i can count the days of rain i have had on 1 hand i best describe it as spanish weather and also it is a little cooler at night
from friends i have been told the rain dies down in the first week to 10 days of october, so if you go last 2 weeks october first 2 weeks in november should get very good weather.

Come on guys............this is the weather we are talking about..........it can't be predicted well in any country
Technically it is still the rainy season although getting towards the end of it-not as hot/humid as April as in April it is still building up to the rainy season (but still not as cool as the dry months Dec/Jan/Feb)
You need to get to the very end of November before the dive boats start going out to the Similans again..............that means still a good chance of some rain + rough seas prior to that...........generally only bursts of showers tho at this time of year.........not several continuous days of rain
As you said IJ any time is a good time for Patong...........the weather is just incidental............unless you love the Similans like me..........there are still day trip local dives available all year tho

I just came back after spending one week in Phuket, it rain 2-3 days out of the 8 days I was there, but the rain lasts only 1-2 hours a day. you should have no problem getting your daily 3-4 hours of beach time. its actually not as hot as the rest of the year, I would rather go in Oct than April just for that reason.
