BG's on this Forum
I am just after having a scary thought. Most of you have probably already thought of it before but I am a little slow off the block!!
What if you end up getting into a relationship with a TG and she knows all about Phuket-info forum. If she manages to get your handle then she can run a check on all your stories, reports, ex gf or whatever you may have posted and surely this wouldn't be helpful to the relationship. Some of the more Senior BM's have posted thousands of posts here and have been posting for a good few years with a shit load of naughty stories.
I assume the girls in MTB know about the forum and they surely get to know your handle. Do you keep your handle QT or does it even matter cos the girls dont bother to go onto the forum.
Surley it would be a good way for the girls to keep in touch with whats going on in the land of P4P and get the male perspective. Would love to hear your views and throw some light on this topic.

Even forgetting about the relationship stuff they would be able to suss out what you are willing to pay and what you like and where you will be etc. The more I think about it I think its best to keep the handle QT.
What are they most looking out for on the forum?

Simple
Simple, really. Just don't tell anyone your handle, or, have multiple identities. When I finally move there next year I'll have to re-invent myself, I guess.

Other than not giving your handle.
Limit the amount of ''small details'' you give in trip reports.
Like the girls real name, what bar she works etc..
Post photos at your own risk IMHO

Honeyseeker's frightening thought had actually occurred to me some time before. Is there any evidence that anyone knows of of bgs reading or knowing about this forum. Nicke or Steve might possibly know.

The internet is a big and wonderful place to loose yourself, but others will and do find you. BG's do read this forum, which is why we watch out for pics and have in the past edited posts to remove certain facts and data.

Fair play to you Steve, a difficult task no doubt. I will be very mindful of this fact from here on in.
If there are any bg's reading this perhaps they could give a little input!!

I agree, I think those small details doesnt add anything to the story anyway. So leave out their real names and where they work in your trip reports.

I think there are about 10 or perhaps 20 BMs that girls would be able to keep in mind and recognize, most BMs are pretty safe I think. Besides it takes hours to browse and follow a member which I doubt they have or are prepare to put that kind of effort... And besides, I don't think any relationship started on faulse grounds will be successful, better be your self here and in person IMHO 2 weeks and then I'll get on the plane yeeiiih

Once last winter when I went with a new girl from MTB, I posted the account of it on the forum here. She was a nice girl and I liked her, but I'm sure some of the things I said about her were embarrassing to her. Altho we had no discussion of the forum, it was clear to me from the way she acted that she had been clued in on what I said about her. Her "sister" said things to me that made me think that she(the sister) had read my post.

Dont think it would be that much of a problem, there arent that many BG's that could follow the slang, Acronyms or even get the gist of most threads.

You would be surprised how much some of the BGs understand , they may act as though they haven't a clue what people are talking about , but they miss nothing. If they hang around bars with a lot of Farangs , they soon learn a lot of slang /regional words, and especially if it is dircted towards them.

Not to sound too simplistic here, but what exactly are you worried about.
There is no secrets with these girls, hell half the time they know what your up to before you do, I think this isn't something to worry about...Unless of coarse your the big bullshiter type who tells girls you love them or there is no other girl for you...yada yada...
Keep with the facts/truth and it really shouldn't be a problem....Better to keep it out in the open, better to be known as a butterfly then to try and pretend your not....its not likely your going to get turned away for being what you are....just another punter.

I dont mean slang as in swear words etc... but Im thinking more of the gist of it.
English has a huge amount of descriptive words, I just cant see an average bar girl understanding "dont have a clue", "account", "task", "input", "handle"
in the context of the 'conversation' within a forum. I would think perhaps 0.5% have that amount of understanding of English and even then I doubt they would spend their spare time on a forum.
Besides,I just dont think that many bar girls use the internet for non-money gathering things.

Its not that we would be lying to them, I just think it is info that is best kept anonymous. Look at it this way, this is mainly a forum for guys to talk about their experiences in phuket and share info with each other ect. Would you talk to the bg's or any girls in the same way and detail as you do on this forum (ie-man to man talk)?? And if the answer is no then why surely you would't like it if they were able to read what you have said on here.
Its not that there is anything major to hide its just that some things are better left untold IMHO.
