Exclamation BG's in Phuket and Bangkok - Need advice

This forum seems to be very focused on these bar girls. Is there more to Thailand than these girls? should i be worried about these girls with my boyfriend? we are heading to Thailand in December. will there be other travellers in these bars that we can hang out with?

Hi B.C.,
Welcome to the forum. Yes, you find a lot of stories on these forums related to bar girls, nightlife, etc.

As to worrying about your boyfriend, it won't be a problem. I have traveled to places like Pattaya with my Thai gal. They'll likely avoid him if you are together. They might flirt with you or you both as a couple though. Bar girls have been known to go with couples. If that's not your bag, just say so.

There are lots of bars that cater to tourists that do not have bar girls. You can tell right away, usually, if a bar is "one of those bars". They are usually concentrated in certain areas.

Overall, though, you have nothing to worry about except enjoying your stay in Thailand. I think you too will enjoy it if you take advantage of all the other cool things you can do there. Lots of sightseeing, great food, shopping and reasonably priced luxuries like 2 hour oil massages, spas and nice hotels too.

Best of luck and have fun.

Thailand is a wonderful country, with beautiful scenery, excellent food and very friendly people. Not for nothing is it called "The Land of Smiles".

Yes this forum is focussed on another aspect - the nightlife - and if you notice, the forum is sponsored by the Mai Thai Bar. You and your boyfriend will find tons of things to and many people to have a drink with. The bars are not just occupied by westerners looking for female companionship, and there is nothing to stop anyone from having a drink and feeling comfortable about it.

As to whether you need to worry about your boyfriend, well only you can answer that as none of us on this forum know him. However if you and your boyfriend go to a bar for a drink together, neither you nor he will be hassled.

Oh come on SD its not that bad! You are setting the guy up there! I reckon that's it is perfectly possible for a guy to go to a beer bar on his own and have a drink with the girls without them making a move on him.
Now, of course, if he says that he wants to go to Christins for a couple of hours then its a different story!

also some soi are more "wild" then others you would be made welcome at nickes bar and that soi is not so full on.
have meet quite a few couples at nickes bar and even a family.
as long as your not prudish should not be a problem
As stated above there is a lot more to thailand then just the bars.

So where is Denver in this thread?

This lady from the land down under is probably a friend of Boogs.

What's wrong Denver, need to do a little Yoga to stretch out that fly swatters elbow and wrist? Maybe you are on medication while doing meditation. I would have the same problem, just looking at the first picture would probably pop one of my knees out of joint.

Thanks Cap'n, stand easy and shiver me dangly bits! That was a rough session! I've given up on the Yoga bit and gone for pure Meditation. Sitting still and humming is something I do quite well I have come to learn.

I hope BattleCat and her bloke have a great time, get to the MTB, meet Nicke and the Girls and realise just what a great time they can have and.............are having!!!

Today I received my new Ford Excursion, B7 Body armour with gun ports, V8, $145,000 bucks worth!! So in honour of this Oz girl I am going to christen her "BattleCat" - An appropriate name out here and will be carrying Ex-Australian RAR guys around. I hope she brings everyone who travels with her Good Luck!

Thanks BattleCat,

Denver

Boogs is my bird BattleCat

Have a great time on your holiday, forget the paranoid android, I'm sure you will have a great time over there with your fella.

Please send my regards to Nicke and the girls at the MTB for me at Christmas.

I'll try and get a picture of the Oz lads who will be using 'BattleCat' out here for you and PM it to you.

Take care, safe journey.
