I just though I'd share this with you all
You know it's amazing, I only joined this forum about 3 weeks ago, after I booked my very first trip to Thailand for April 2006, just to get a feel for the place. Now after this short period of time I feel as if I know the country like a veteran, especially Patong, MT and the more regular posting BM's. I've spent literally hours trawling through the posts (old & new) and am just fascinated by the experiences of the more regular posting BM's. If my visit is only half as memorable as expectations of my minds eye, then I just know that I am going to have the experience of a lifetime and April just cannot come around soon enough for me. I cannot praise this forum enough for the level of information and entertainment value it provides.
By the way on my trip I am spending 5 days in Chiang Mai, 2 days in Bangkok and 6 days in Phuket, I just know this will be nowhere near long enough, but I guess I had to start somewhere.

Worst time of year if you ask me!! Way too f*cking hot!! If I ever lived there, I would take a vacation in April, and go to OZ or Tibet or somewhere cooler like Antarctica!!
BTW, you will have the time of your life, Sandy!! Especially when you get to Phuket. BKK is too polluted. Chiang Mai is only a little better for the air, but not anywhere near as good for the girls as Phuket, as there isn't such a big BG scene there, but the people are nice in CM. Also, probably both the best and the cheapest masseuses in CM! Treat yourself to a few 2 hr massages! But Phuket has the pretty girls, the fresh air, and the beaches!!

Its nice to see someone happy
Sure you will have a blast-
I wish it were my first time again and I were exploring all the things that I didn't know about- half the fun was the adventure that kept you coming back for more. The more you visit then the initial magic kind of wears off......hard to describe but don't get me wrong its a wonderful place. Enjoy it- you 'Virgin'
Regards

Well,
I do not think that bad - Phuket is changing so fast, even tsunami affect does not matter so much.
Enjoy!
I'm jealous - I will arrive to Karon Beach not before Feb,20 next year

And when you get back, this may add to your gardening expertise(from poetry thread a few days ago)
THERE WAS A YOUNG MAN FROM LEEDS
WHO SWALLOWED BUCKET OF SEEDS
IN HALF AN HOUR
HIS **** WAS A FLOWER
AND HIS **** WAS A BUNDLE OF WEEDS

i second that sentiment, sandy
i've been reading los sites like this forum and stickmanbangkok for a year and a half, but have yet to make the trip or concrete travel plans. congratulations on booking the first of what will most probably be many future trips. you've taken that first step, now armed with the knowledge you've gained here, just prepare your heart and mind for the absolute time of your life. cheers.
Evski.
