how to handle with a digi cam?

this week i will buy a digital camera, is it possible to transfer the photo's to a cd rom in an internet cafe?

Or what would u guys recommend when u reached the max MB of your memeory card?

Is there a handy way to save the pictures somewhere and reset the camera so u can make more pictures again?

Hi Michel,

When you buy your camera, also buy an extra memory card. 64mb or 128mb if possible.

Basically, there are 3 settings to choose on the camera. Fine, Normal, and Basic.

Basic will give you photos of about 50kb in size and are just good for internet use, not printed photos.

The normal setting will allow a lot of good quality photos. This is what I use on my camera. I can get around 150 photos on my memory card before I need to download it.

If you use the Fine setting, it uses huge amounts of memory, and you only get a small amount of photos on your memory card.

Make sure you have a spare memory card, and when you fill one with photos, take it to any large camera shop, and they should be able to download all your photos onto a CD for about 250 baht.

Use your spare card when they have your other card at the shop. This will ensure you NEVER have a night without your camera.

i have a 16 MB internal memory and a 64 MB card extra, what do you do when your card is full? Do you also put them on cd? and how long will that take?

maybe i just buy one more 64 MB card...

i surely will spend some nights at soi '****-and-dildo', i take my cam with me!

The next day i shall run to the internet shop to let the stunners be checked at mikegb68 (why not 69? good position )

I also have 2 x 64mb memory cards. When one is full, just take it to the shop and give him the card. He will download it on to CD. It will usually be done for the next day, so just give him that one and put your other 64mb card in.

I did try to get the web address mikegb69, but some other dirty person called mike got there first

Its not worth trying to go to an internet shop to download the camera. They probably wont have the software on their computer, or the correct leads to download.

What I do when I get the CD back from the shop, is go to the internet cafe and look at the photos on the CD. Check all of them, and that the CD is ok BEFORE you put your old card in and wipe it.

I lost about 30 photos once when the CD went wrong

Don't forget, the price of memory cards keeps getting cheaper and cheaper all the time. I haven't looked lately, but a few months ago I paid $39 for a 128MB card. Just buy a few 256MB cards, use the medium setting on your camera, and worry about downloading the pics when you get home.

i actually ordered a cam, with an extra card.

The card (64MB) will cost me 45 EURO.

I hope the tax free shops at Schiphol (Amsterdam Airport) have good prices. I am surpriced how cheap you have bought that card

I just did a quick seach on the Internet and found that the prices have come down even more. I saw a 512MB compact flash card for $99.

I think that would hold more pics than I'd take.
