Definatly Becks or Heinekkin for me, although a nice cold corona goes down well.

Maybe I'm a heathen but I like and will drink any lager, just as long as I stick to the one make, when having to change its only then I realise the first or second one is/was not as good. Also try to keep off the strong lager, they do have more taste but naff up my beerometer. In reality though I don't think a beer drinker can call himself that drinking lager as compared to bitters/ real ales there is just no real taste for too much comparison in my opinion.

The drinking culture is very different, Oz/UK, and fairly standard lagers are called 'session' beers, which tells you a lot.

I'm with Dodger on this, most beers and lagers are fairly palatable with a few horrid exceptions. Castlemaine has been mentioned, personally I would put corona on the list as well, and one or two failed continental imports like Oranjeboom (...it's a lager not a tune..)

I had a few Duvels when I was up in Northern California and really liked it but impossible to find around here.

We do have Stella on tapo here and I have had some pretty good hangovers from it but that may be due more to quantity consumed than quality of the beer.

I will not drink any US beer except Micro Brews as all the beer breweries in US produce horrible beer.

I also like a good Hefenweisen also but have to watch out as it makes me warm up my seat too often. Good for when the car is really cold on the way home but can't wait for the heater to kick in so I can get the smell out of the car. And not a good beer for drinking on a date, have to keep blaming it on someone else and that will not work on a second date.

Usually bring my own beer to parties as I do not want to get stuck drinking some cheap beer.

yep, drink a lot of Pyramid and also the resort that I go to in the Philippines imports one from Germany, a little heavier on the wheat but a good change from a regular beer.

Drank San Miguel Light rather than regular San Miguel my whole trip in PI, other than the occassional hefenweisen at the resort, and felt better every morning. Funny since the light has a higher alcohol content but I thibk it is just a better brewed beer.

As you say, to each is own. I never could stomach Bud, even when I was a beer drinker. Nowadays, I am definitely a wine drinker. There is very good wine here in CA. However, good wine is far too expensive in LOS. Spy is wine only in the broadest sense of the word. Therefore, when in LOS, I have confined my imbibing to mostly tequila!!

I dont know how anyone drinks that stuff, it is so sickly sweet, but the girls love it. Warning for diabetics, avoid Spy.

Nope, they give it away in Vietnam in most of the night clubs in HCM! Normally by girlies in very skimpy Fosters Blue and yellow T-Shirts and bikini bottoms. I'm not normally a lager drinker but when offered by these lovely girls who will come and sit with you after giving you your free beer. Well, some would describe that as paradise! Who cares what the bloody beer tastes like?
