Threads???

I'm always baffled by which threads grow legs and which ones die out. Doesn't seem to be rhyme or reason to it.

Maybe Diz should start posting odds on a threads survival.

no, dave is right though, some go off in another direction and end up being better than the original post

all a thread needs is an australian sheila and Denver with too much time on his hands and the thread just takes off.

I have a quick look in there now and again and can see the people who have been just itching and dying to go in there and just put nothing about.............nothing! I can see what Steve was doing and I know the Boogs thread was a good place to cover all sorts of stupid crap from the Rugby, musical instruments and lots of other inane dribbles (I think it got to 10 pages or so of B0llocks) and quite a few people said that, the same ones going into the 'Nothing' thread and typing well.............B0llocks!! I have a giggle at people trying to write something about nothing! Rows of dots or a few smileys! So nice one Steve, it's been and is interesting.

There's quite a few comments in there like "Where is Denver? This would be his kind of thread" etc etc All I can say to that is.............When the fcuk have you ever found me stuck for something to say?

Thats why I didn't post Denver, always got too much to say and saw the reason why Steve did the post, thought that message would have got across to the board, but heck no, over 120 posts now in there, have no clue what drivel is being posted but steve the message clearly didn't get across.

I do like how threads twist and turn and sometimes, not always, come back on track. I am guilty of leading them astray and I have also tried to bring them back on track...........Well, if they are worth bringing back on track!

I've always said that if I know nothing (DOH!) about the subject or it is between two BM's who were there and they are expressing something about a subject for the good and benefit of a forum on Phuket then I don't 'normally' comment and just say 'Nothing' (DOH!)

Time for bed, later Gaters

OK we'll have a one-sided conversation then.

I think that it is only natural for a thread to take detours and go off at a tangent. It is similar to a conversation between people, and yes, I'm guilty of talking bollocks as well as writing it sometimes.

I agree with your comment about bringing them back on track

I just had a quick peek into Nothing! and was tickled with the banter between Steve and somebody about deleting thier posts about Nothing!

Someone asked Steve if the posts had much in them?

Steve says "Nothing worth reading!" That gave me a bit of a chuckle.

Still not talking to Sir Gezabell, we've had two new female members and he still hasn't asked them for a photo yet! The man's losing his touch!

Maybe he's got his imminent trip to LOS of his mind "Now, when packing my case is it socks on top of vests on top of underpants ? And where do I put the KY ??"

Yes Denver - the banter with Steve about the deleted thread is definitely the work of a top comedian

I have asked one new lady member for a photo, and it will be on it's way soon, along with her husband Who is the other new member that I have missed? I think I need an assistant - what's going to happen when I'm in LOS for 6 weeks. Who will still be at home? Perhaps they could do it for me - any ideas?

Right, that's it, you are definately off my Christmas card list!

No problem Sir Gez, you have big boots to fill but I reckon I can do a temporary standby stand-in type thingy until you get back from wherever it is you are going! Tch, The things I do for this bloody Forum!

Any asking for photos top tips Gez?

Good point, Before I used to read all the threads on this board as most of them used to be interesting in there own way, But over the last while it has just turned into a monster and I just pick the ones I think will be interesting and dont bother reading the rest, One of which is the "Nothing Thread"...

Really could not be arsed wasting my time posting or reading through all the crap, But I understand why Stevem highlighted the problem but I agree with Dodger, The point seemed to be lost on most people and that also has turned into a monster...

Between today and yesterday, I marked unread "63 Threads"
