Rizza needs help buying digital camera !!
Hey guys,
As you know i leave on the 8th of Jan, and i want to buy a Canon Powershot A620, I just need to decide where i get it from for the cheapest.. Can you tell me how duty free in Phuket and Bangkok work with prices, any websites i can check ??.. Duty free here in Australia is quoting AU $599.. Any ideas of the best way for me to get it ?? What about buying it in Phuket itself ?? or at the airport ?? warrantys would be a problem wouldn't they ??
If anyone has dealt with this issue please help me out a bit.
Thanks

If you are transiting through Singapore, then its very competitively priced there.
I can't comment on BKK or Phuket dutyfree but I have found one Aussie outlet cheaper than Oz dutyfree
Try here http://www.dirtcheapcameras.com.au/s...?idProduct=484
If you do a google search as I did you may well find it even cheaper to buy somewhere online in Australia.

And no warranty. Pay the extra $20 for the warranty.

Bob
Be careful of the delivery charge from SE Asia on ebay.
It adds a lot to the cost when bidding from the UK

If the warranty is important. Here in the states we have some "grey" market cameras. No warranty, you may get a cheaper price, but if it breaks in some cases your S.O.L., or you cannot return it to where you bought it, or it has to be shipped away at your cost

Its a 12 month warranty, and the 60$ shipping + 20$ insurance still makes it cheaper than to buy it here And i get the extras like the 1 gig memory

Read the fine print, the 12 month warranty is more than likely return to HKG. You may be up for customs when the camera arrives. For saving $20, in my opinion not worth the effort.
Up to you!!!

and it is nice to get the camera before your trip so that you can go over the manual and understand the features that the camera offers.
