Don't know exact prices, also there's more than one shooting range.
At the BBTrophy it was 1800baht for 18 shots with a pistol, I think Lightemup mentioned this was about 10x the cost of the ammo.

i tried the one out by the Loch Palm golf club last trip - called Kathu international Shooting Club. Was unimpressed with the facilities and lack-lustre staff(bored looking paramilitary types).
Quite expensive too @900baht/6rounds of 9mm - couldn't recommend it

Never played much with a pistol, spent about 30yrs with shotguns and rifles (yes, we start early in my family ) but someone put prices up here before and frankly, if the guy isnt dressed like
d1ck turpin while taking your cash, he damn well should be.

Steve as everyone on the forum knows I am the resident expert, please feel free to post any questions to me as I am always more than happy to pass on my knowledge and experience regarding the loud bangy things that never seem to hit anything aimed at (unless your name is lightemup)( but then he cheats by using a machine gun)

out of interest, why is it so expensive over there?
I make that about £12 for 10 cartridges, I buy 250 for £20-25 in the UK. Boxes of clays are cheap (even cheaper when you position the trap to drop the missed ones somewhere softish), and most clubs (over here) have "club guns" which are lent out free to newcomers.
I wont be there for the BB comp, but i was considering a visit..think i'll keep the cash and get a few more beers

This is the best laugh i have had in the last 3 hours of reading the board, dodger was recently the worst BM in a group that went to the range, i think he was shooting with his eyes closed.
They have a large selection of guns, i used the rifle but my knowledge of guns is pretty much non existent, i am sure someone will be along shortly to help you out.

first of all the prices they charge are for tourists.members pay less.
second u use one of their guns
you'll pay for the staff
you'll pay some insurance.
in my shooting days i'll made a .45 for about 0.10 but when i had to buy a cartridge it costs me 0.45.
and i was shooting with my own gun. when i practice at a private range i'll pay 10.00 for one session.
so for an afternoon fun with some friends for the price less than 2 bell ringings who cares . i'm on holiday and it is better than in bed all day.

Thanks S1mon it's not a big deal I was just curious. I am new so I don't know anyone yet. I took his post seriously, I am learning. lol
The prices are very high but if you can shoot a weapon you cant here in the states it might be worth it.

Theres a weapon you cant shoot in the states ???
Dont think you will find too much exotic stuff.. Cambodia has fully auto AK47's and M16's.. Rocket launcher you shoot at a cow with.. Mad stuff for dirt cheap..

Good valid points.
If I was there for the BB Trophy, dont get me wrong, I'd certainly have no problem going along for the day for the crack with the BM's, it would be (most importantly) a good giggle.
And for visitors who never get a chance to fire firearms i can see how it would be a good way to spend an afternoon as a one-off experience.
Just reading those prices came as a bit of a shock, when everything else in LOS seems so much cheaper than the UK

Hi all, i tried it once at the shooting range in chiang mai. it also seems to be expensive compared to the price for anything else. but i had a thai friend with me who arranged it for me. i paid the normal price and he gave me the percentage back he got as a scout, bringing me to the range. he told me its usually about 30 % in every case a scout get´s from the bussines owner´s for taking customers to them.
