Hi and welcome to the board ,
Normal allowance for ciggy's , don't know how customs would be about (unlicenced/non-generic) medicines , probably depends on how many , cash wise , depends on whether you are a "party animal" but sounds O.K.
PS. UK customs are doing spot checks if you have been in any country with a "threat" of bird flu , so may go through your luggage very closely.

1. yes, 200 but the wife and I brought back about 2000 last time (Falling Rain menthol), but if you do get grabbed it ain't so good. All other limits are as ex-EC countries (ie same as USA etc).
2. Take care here - customs will expect to see a doctor's note/prescription etc for any stuff you bring back which is available only on prescription in the UK. Again, only if they check your bags.
3. Have you paid for all your travel and hotels already or will internal flights/accommodation be coming out of your £50 per day? If yes, then this will not be enough and even if the answer is no then you might find it limits the amount of 'horizontal entertainment' that you can afford (if this is part of your plans, of course). Also, this will not cover things like elephant trekking, white water rafting Simon Cabaret etc etc. Depends on your plans/expectations.
Above all - have fun and enjoy your first trip to LOS (and don't be too surprised if your final spend is 2x your original budget).

£50 a day after acommadation, but not including internal flights. internal flights will be put on the plastic till i get back home, but the rest of the holiday will have around £50 a day, probably more. ( £1500 for 30 days after accomadation paid for)
i cant see me doing loadsa internal flights maybe to an from bkk but not sure how im getting to ko pha ngan for the full moon party yet
i had to choose between doing a mad hol for 2 weeks or a sort of 'reserved' holiday for a month, so i choose the later

Internal flights are pretty cheap (avoid Nok Air/Phuket Air, their planes are knacked - Thai are a bit more expensive but more frequent and reliable flights).
I'm sure you will have a great time - probably won't want to come home!

Oh, just one more thing - I don't know if you have any intentions of indulging in 'recreational drugs' - I don't touch them with a barge-pole myself (have enough bother with booze and fags) - but the Thai police can be v.tough on this and it's no good appealing to the GB embassy for help, they will only do the bare minimum. The Thai govnt version of The Bangkok Hilton doesn't have 5 stars!

You are on target
Welcome to the board.
You can get by of 50 quid a day.If you have a few big days then just compensate with a few quiet ones.Daily living is cheap - it's just when the demon drink gets you and you overspend.
