questions for guys with thai wifes

another one of my probing questions.

i guess its more of a thought. if i was to marry a thai girl, i obviously would want her to become her own person, and have a successful life, be it as a hosewife or in some sort of career. but i would imagine that over time they would lose that child-like naivete that we all love so much, so its a double edged
what are your thoughts on this?

I pretty sure we have had this before, but since we have moved to Sydney, the changes in my misses has been huge. The "up to you" has just about gone, which is something that I happy about.

I wouldnt say more demanding, but generally more aware and concisous (sp??)
of things going on around her. Things like our money and investing, instead of the old "up to you", she is questioning whats it all about, what happens and all that, which I am impressed with.

My brothers flat mate is a senior manager at the Hilton where my misses works, so I hear about what goes on at her work. She is standing up for herself, and speaking out to her supervisors where she feels things arent right, and that is so unThai.

She has always been a strong headed woman, what with running gogo's and what not in Thailand and having to deal with all you drunks every night.

But the one thing that will never change, I hope, is she is a bloody good cook, and there is nothing like coming home from work, and the smell of home cooked Thai food.

Or is she saying Good day a lot, carrying around a big knife, and only wants to eat shrimp on the Barbie?

Geez, I am going to have to throw out my Paul Hogan Guide to Australian Etiquette.

Snags?

Good to hear that your wife is doing well in OZ and taking care of herself. Now if only she wouldn't nag you about the forum.

Southern Californians are stereo typed also and not being a native laugh about it as some fit the mold and some don't even come close but we are all supposed to be brain dead surfers partying all the time. Used to live in NYC and talk to a lot of people from over there and don't remember being that obnoxious when I lived there for 26 years. Most NYCer's can be very pushy.

You definitely do not have the neighborhhod feel in LA like you do in Boston or NYC.

I was lucky that when I moved out here I was able to meet a lot of people because of scuba diving. Would have been much harder to meet people otherwise. A couple of friends that I met 15 years ago when I first moved out here, I still dive and travel with regularly.

LA is a lonely mo' fcking place w/o friends. I lived there for 6 months during trade school and was fairly miserable. Hard to connect with folks, yer right.

SF is cool. Just hard for dating.

Guys LA is not that hard. Just need to be a little more outgoing. SF was not difficult either. Met some nice people up there.

Isn't that a registered trademark!

That particular statement is more often true than not...but I have met the exception to the rule...just not very many times.

Cali...nothing but fruits and nuts with a few tree huggin hippies running around...surfs up dude LOL

Every place in the world has a sterotype of the people...LOS...is everyone really always smiling? I've seen a few angry thais too....it is funny to think about how many are really true.
