Boys,
as a few know im getting married in April.
As usual ive left all the finer details to last minuite, like .....1. where do i have to present my decree absoloubt from the uk to prove im divorced and ok to marry again.
2. is a photocopy ok for proof?

3. is there anything else i have to do ?

4. partys end of april if your in town.

suppose if any have advice, respond if u please..

I may be wrong but i think you have to go to the british embassy with the original document and they stamp it. i know when i got married in Ang Thong i had to go to the british embassy to get a form stamped to say i was free to marry.
if you are getting married in an amphu (district office) they insist on the permission from your embassy to prove you are unmarried before they will do the ceremony.

I forgot to look if you were british if not your own countrys embassy.

if you go to the british embassy you go to the consuls office its upstairs from the passport and visa section it takes about 1 hour no appointment required

If you only need a consular stamp you might get it done in Phuket.Most countries have a consular official on the island.

their website link to the part about registering marriages is under construction.

i read before that the form outlining your single status must be stamped at your embassy.

also it said about, getting it translated to thai and taking to the MFA building on Chaeng Wattana (spelling ?)

you need this form of single status to register the wedding at the amphur.
