I think you might be advised to book in advance, especially if you have a particular hotel in mind. It does get extremely busy at Songkran, although there is no lack of accommodation.

I think it is a lot better to book before you arrive, and i shall be doing that every trip from now on, i turned up on xmas eve with no accomodation booked and ended up walking around with a hammock in my hand looking for somewhere to stay, and even when i did find a place it was only for a few nights as they were booked after that.
Do the BMs that are around for songkran care to share where you are staying?, i would like to know where to avoid

I think your previous experience from last year should tell you what to do, unless of course you want to stay in the same place as last year.
Christmas, New Years, and Songkran are too busy to take a chance.

Well i mailed patong villa and they still have all types of room available, so it is high on my list of places to stay, but i am a bit worried about the noises that will be coming from dawseys room and also i reckon Bono will invite his mate IJ round to share some bloke, on top of that i think Denver will make a guest appearance for songkran so he will be beating on Bonos door to join in , so it may be quite a noisy place.
Did you guys book over the net?? and if so did you have to fax them the details after confirmation???
cheers folks
Simon

Hi Simon,
I think Bono is in a bungalow, Dawsey is in the Sweet Suite, and Denver always likes to stay in a bungalow so just stay in a regular room that is as far away from the bungalows as possible to avoid all the noise from their antics.
And Dawsey is sharing the room with one of his daughters.

Hi S1mon,
I booked direct on the Patong Villa website. They ask for a small deposit, and email you to confirm everything.
The owner is called Surasak and is very good at responding to emails and questions.
Join the gang at PV Simon, just be careful which room you go into at night

Better for you then, did not realise that the sweet suite had 2 bedrooms.
Pool Party in Roger's room as a warmup for Wet Willies!

With that many BM's hanging around in one not so large hotel it will actually be an ok place for chilling poolside in the afternoons..
