kinda a random topic.. but i have heard of many farangs getting robbed by BG's, no doubt after passing out when pissed!, never happened to me but has anyone experienced this? any thai baht gone missing or anything bigger?! my trick which always seems good at the time(when drunk) is when th BG is in the bathroom i chuck my trousers (containing money, phone etc) under the mattress out of sight.. worked well until my mobile phone alarm went off one morning.. BG looking very confused as to why my clothes were under the mattress!!! oh well bound to get snags..

when i 1st started going to LOS, i would hide my money, but id be too drunk to find it in the morning.
ive been fortunate, havent been robbed, but i also only take girls that ive spent the whole night having fun with, never just walkign up to them and taking them, that might help

Happened to me one night...I woke up one morning and someone had stolen my BG!!! couldn't believe it.

but now I know I can put her under the mattress and she'll still be there in the morning, good thinking

Don't you use the "in room" safe or the one at reception?

I wouldn't feel too happy leaving a whole tours cash in the room at any time.

Sure if its only a few thousand baht,why not just lock it in your suitcase.

never had any problem with stealing from BG's but as said above be careful dont leave money or valuables around if you have a hotel safe use it.
BG's are pretty safe see you know where they work (a good thing about bar fines)
free lancers maybe a little more caution required
katoys have a bad rep for stealing not my scene but maybe others could comment on this.
myself take same precautions in thailand as I do at home.(yes i use condoms

)

Didnt get ripped by a BG, but i made the mistake to let some money on the table in my room when going to diner.

coming back to my room i realized that the room service must have been in and some money was missing.It was not much , about 1500-2000. I think the room maid thought i dont realize it if she does not take all. I did not go to the hotel manager as it was my fault.Normally I always use the hotel safe and try to take hotels with safe in the room additional.

Well lucky, as it was my first day i had just checked in in the afternoon and went for diner, and there are about 6-7000 bath at the table, do you expect that the room maid thinks i let some tausend bath as tip up to her on the table for the upcoming room service?

Never had a problem thou my experience is not very wide, just gone with a few BGs. I used to leave my cell, wallet and watch right on the night table and everything was intact every morning.

Never had a prob either in the 7 stores or the Family stores. I do hide my passport in a safe place. My wallet I usually htrow it in some old clothes into the dirty clothes bag in my closet.. when the BG goes into the toilet .

Passport, return ticket and my spare credit card go in to the safe at reception on arrival and the rest in the room and never had a problem yet !

I've caught two nicking stuff, first time it was a passport photo of me - god knows what she wanted that for as I don't take a very pretty picture....

Second time it way my toothpaste!!! - there's nothing worse than some chick flogging your damn toothpaste...

My mate got rinsed out by a TG last week. He was battered and picked up a girl off the street in BKK. Took her home and passed out, woke up in the morning missing his phone, I-Pod and 40,000 baht.

I would say "that will teach him" but it won't.

I once had a girl steal 100 baht right in front of my face. It was morning, I was very hungover and wanted rid of this girl. I paid her the agreed price and she looked at my table where I keep all my spare change. There was loads of 10baht coins stacked up and she just picked up 100 baht and started to walk out. I was going to say something but I thought "OK! now get out."

Didnt exactly get through many TG's on my first trip, but I was a bit careless with leaving change and small notes around my room at C&N, had no problems.
I was careful about my passport and other paperwork though, always locked away in my suitcase, especially as i was stood next to guy in reception briefly one morning who was on about his passport being stolen somewhere. He was quite calm, so i'm assuming it didnt happen at C&N.

I always try to use the hotel safe, and I only carry around what I'll be needing that day. I also wear a cheap watch in Thailand. So, if I somehow lose everything I've got on me at a given time, it's no big deal. In any event, I've never had a problem.

Never in 20 visits have i had money taken but i always as Dawsey advises keep the bulk of my cash in the hotel safety box . one of my mates has had it happen several times when with freelancers in pattaya basically i wpould feel if you took a girl from a bar and they know you can go back to the bar and find them they would not risk stealing a few thousand bhat.

one time whilst staying at the beach view hotel in pattaya i had a room maid come down to the swimming pool AND GIVE ME A SEVERE bollocking because i had left money lying around my room she was so angry she says if someone else took my money she would get the blame for it

safety boxes in the room are not great idea again my mate paul one time came in pissed with 2 girls in pattaya opened up his box to get cash to pay them and then zonked out woke up to find all his cash gone only thing that saved his holiday was he only had 5 days to go and also the boss of the penthouse hotel who is a good friend of ours advanced him some cash for the rest of his holiday because he knows we are regular visitors and we would pay him back.

my friend is coming to los in april and has booked a flight with thai which includes 2 nights at the belaire princess in bangkok but because he has learned that there safety boxes are in the rooms he will not go there now as he knows he will get pissed and leave his box open or something

I had one girl leave a little bottle of similar cream on my sink, so rather than it go to waste I used it to wash my face….A week or so later she was back at my place and now sees the bottle is near to empty. “What you do with that?”

Very seldom do I stay in a hotel, but yer, I never thought of that, you can see that it would annoy a maid, and for good reason.

- I always have a little change laying about my place, never have I had one coin taken. But for a few nasty exceptions, it seems to me that bargirls are rather honest in this respect at least – bless them!

Never had a BG still any Baht from me..the Reason...I never have any notes in my pockets when I return to my room...it all goes on turps during the night..when we wake..then have breakfast and then off to the ATM for the payment...
