Hairdressers and fun
Along with the usual 7/11, massage shop, clothes stores to be found along many Thai streets I've noticed there is usually a hairdresser's staffed by attractive Thai ladies.
Has anyone visited one of these places and received more than a haircut/manicure or are they pretty much legit?

Cambodia
When my friend went for a haircut in Phnom Phen he was sitting there and low and behold some enterprising lady went under the sheet.
He had a great haircut.
This does not happen in the local places in Patong but a hairdressers is a great place to get into conversation with the girls.

If you are in Vietnam...........hairdressers are the places where it ALL hapenns apart from one or two very seedy bars like the "Apocalypse Now" bars in Hanoi + Saigon ansd a couple of frelancer joints
As for LOS.............I think that you'd be having a very dry visit if you limit your hunt to hairdressers............55555

i was in pattaya once and told the very hot hairdresser that i was goign to phuket tomorrow. she asked to go with me, but since my gf was in the hotel across the street had to decline. then back a few weeks later, my gf went to get a haircut by her, asked just for a trim and the girl chopped her, wonder if it was just a coincedence.
my hairdresser in patong is great. going to their place is fun, and they cut hair great

Mate, the worst haircut I have ever had was in Vietnam. Left me looking like a pedaphile and I was only 21.... Needless to say I shaved it into a moehalk as soon as I got back to my hotel room.
But im thinking maybe the cute hairdressers might be an untapped resource in Thailand. That is if they don't allready double as bar girls at night.

Haircut in LOS
I used to have a great girl who I would always make my frst port of call in Patong just off the beach road, as soon as my bags were on the bed.
Once I arrived it was a haircut, a shave (they even used to go round the corner to Watson near McDonalds and buy Gillette shaving foam) with a cut throat- really close, and then a BJ in the massage bit- no massage as they knew me by then and after the 4th time I would arrive weary from 24 hours travelling and they would greet me with a big smile and ask ''u want usual Khun Drew?''
I would then go and sit out on the beach road relaxed and have a beer in the sunshine....thinking about what I had missed and how I would spend my next two weeks in this wonderful place.........mmmm
The girl is no longer there. She had a kid in Bangkok so I think she moved back home. The first time I went back there was a ladboy working there who took a shine to me and he was a real he (made the monster look like Jennifer Aniston)...so I am now seeking a new hair dresser....
Regards
Drew

I was going to ask who/where she worked but she's gone!
Will give the ladyboy a miss too. Now have 5 months growth of hair to cut and will have it off in LOS instead of my usual pre-los haircut.
Did you get the bj in the barber seat? Didn't the other customers notice?

TGs who work in hair dressing shops are often happy to go out on a date. But they won't usually do much to you in the chair...unlike I recall years ago in Taiwan.

No.1 Salon in Patong
Hi
The best salon in Patong is Beauty By Design, it is opposite Christin Massage. The girls are stunners and very friendly. There is a really cool bar out the front of the salon. I always go there for haircut and shave....the best place for them.
And yes the girls will go out with you when the shop is closed!!!!

I have a friend who used to go to LOS every year back 15 or 20 yrs ago. He told me that getting a BJ along with your haircut was pretty much standard procedure back in those days!
BTW, I can't remember the last time I heard that word "hairdresser." Must have been in an old movie or something. Do they still use that word? It is archaic here in the US. If you asked a young person, I don't think they would have a clue what you meant. Like, do people put dresses on hair? Brings up images of girls putting dresses and wigs on their Barbie dolls. That's weird! The official word here now is cosmetologist, but some people just call them haircutters. They used to call them beauticians before that, but that was more when men got haircuts in barber shops, and ladies went to the beauty salon. Hairdresser! I think that was before my time!

Just asked my teenage kids what the hairdressers is. All of them answered correctly. Well they said its a place you go and get your hiar cut. So may be the American kids have moved further away from the Queens English.

Cosmetology is the treatment of skin, hair and nails and includes, but is not limited to, manicures, pedicures, application of artificial nails, special occasion hairstyling, shampooing hair, cosmetic application, body hair removal, chemical hair relaxers or straighteners, permanent waves, coloring and highlighting of hair, and hair extensions or wig treatments. A person who is licensed in cosmetology is called a cosmetologist.
I would say this describes the hairdressers in LOS perfectly and some give a little lip service.

I went there by chance on the evening I arrived in LOS and had a haircut for 250 baht, but she said she didn't do face massage. Very brightly lit shop, English owner. I can attest to the beauty of the girls there.

I asked a hairdresser out for dinner one night just to be nice. She was friendly and had just started her business and was hurting for customers so I thought a pleasant night out for her would be nice and I can usually use a night or two away from the bars. I had no intention of carrying it any further than one night out for dinner. She asked if she could bring her "sister" and I said sure since I was in Phuket with my brother. My brother ended up going gaga for the sister and they spent the next week with each other while I was the bad guy because I had no interest in the hairdresser. This chick was more nuts than any bargirl I've known. I would either have to walk on the other side of the street or take a long way back to my hotel. She was bitter big time. The point is--yes I guess you can find hairdressers who want action but be carefull what you wish for.
