Happy St. Paddy's day

I just wanted to wish all of our hansum young Irish BMs and all others of course, a happy, drunken St. Paddy's day. Here in Los Angeles we don't have a parade. LA is so lame sometimes. They do have them in San Fransico, Boston, New York, and Chicago that I know of. I will probably start a bit early at linch. We just happen to have an Irish pub next door to my office that serves decent Irish fare. They dont have any Singha but I guess a Guenniss (sp) shall suffice.

How about the rest of you BM? Anyone have a parade in their conutry? Do you usually get sauced on this day? I see that the BM in Phuket are already getting set up with their plans.

cheers,
DD

My birthday is on St Paddy's Day! There's always someone to have an Irish Carbomb with at the bar. Seriously, having your birthday at St. Paddy's Day in NYC ensures non-stop boozing.

LOL we have it cos we have so many people of Irish ancestry here in the states. I just watched a documentary on the subject. Hes the guy that brought christianity to the Irish.... or so the film says. MOst of the Irish made their homes in New York and Boston when they first came here so many years ago, thats why its so popular in those cities. Just ask Paul.

not bad time for a "paddy" on this day to be shunting off to the tai pan, for a rose of the issan (tried to find a thai town with an irish sounding name, no luck)

peace to all from the emerald isle.

You've got to be joking

I can't believe an Irishman could remember the day of the week, let alone a significant event.
Who was St Patrick anyway and why was he Irish?
Just joking, happy St Patrick's day to all the real Irish people.

Happy St. Patricks Day

Happy St. Patricks Day to all.

It is about 3C outside, absolutely freezing. But nothing that a few hot Irish Whiskeys wouldn't sort out, downed by a good few pints of Shamrock Topped Guinness.

Sure T'will be mighty craic I tell ya!!!

I'm off to start the celebrations. Have a good one.

St Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland was said to have driven the snakes from the land. He was born in the 4th century of aristocratic Roman stock in Kilpatrick, Scotland and as a teenager was seized by marauders and carried back to Ireland in slavery. He later escaped, left Ireland and entered the priesthood.

He returned to Erin on a mission from the Holy See to bring Christianity to the Irish. As part of his ministry Patrick used the shamrock as a symbol to illustrate the Holy Trinity.

The apocryphal tale of Patrick expelling the snakes from Ireland is probably a reference to the overthrow of the old Druidic pagan religion which was prevalent at the time.

there are big populations of the descendants of Irish immigrants in many parts of the world - a sad fact that historically Ireland's greatest export has always been her people

Plenty of Irish decent here though not many parades - but most australians appreciate any good reason for a beer or two ... guinness is next to godliness ... the drunker i stand here the longer i get!

I have two irish cook's working (worked) for me, and I guess they had a big celebration of St. Paddys day. Both was shit drunk Saturday-morning and ruined the hotel-breakfast.

One of them doesn't have a job today, so that was his St. Paddys day.
