First question, what is your budget. Especially if you go for the Boathouse.
Second question, what kind of food do you want?

I think that some of the ex-pats on the forum can answer this better than I can. It's a while since I was there and new places spring up all the time.
If you PM the BM called Urtheman,he is a restaurateur in Phuket and can give you the lowdown on whats hot or not.
I'm a little intrigued, are you marrying a Thai girl and the guests are Thai family and friends.
Good luck whatever.
BTW to PM (private message),just click on the blue heading under your sign in name, type in the (BM) board member name you wish to message, put in a subject, type it and click "send message".

Mom Tri's is an expensive place - more especially if you have an 'open' bar.
Are the guests thai or farang? - might make a difference, either way i'd aim for somewhere that gives you a good seafood feed & drinks, karaoke after - sorry can't help with venues just don't think mon tri's is it.

I agree. Thais won't like Mom Tri and with farangs 1500 is way to low if you include wine/beer

were both english/ farangs seeking a truely wonderfull time..
cheers for all the info so far...were both from uk getting married in phuket. we booked the wedding day but when ive looked / talked to places like mom tri restaurant they seem to be quoting high prices i thought for a meal (to say its cheap out there?) we are ideally seeking somewhere that can put on a great buffee / meal but where we can have a good drink /laugh/ dance after the meal as well. ideally, the place could do with being by the beach for the kids to play / relax. come on guys...you must be able to reccommend somewhere nice.....ps..i said /ment around 1500bts per head for the meal only..i except that an open bbar will cost a lot more....ideas welcome.
thanks.

I would say pricewise Baan Rim Pa and the Boathouse are not that far apart, though I not have the menu of the latter in my head. Personally I think the Boathouse is the nicer location and has some private area's. To arrange that you would need to book prior. But I bet with the venue in April you can work something out with them to a buffet and drinks for a reasonable wedding price (compared to UK).
Good luck

May be Sala Bua, the restaurant from the Impiana Phuket Cabana. Right on the beach. Otherwise you can head to the Laguna. Don't know prices there.
