Apartments around Patong

I will be in and out of Phuket a few times during the month of December, and would like to rent an apartment for the time I will be in the area; rather then booking a hotel for each section. Can anyone provide me with information on how to do this? I have done some looking around the net, but only seem to come up with hotels willing to do long term stays at a small discount.

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Also, how busy is it expected to be there around the end of the year? Do they expect a normal amount of toursits during the high-season?

I've never heard about a joiner fee being asked there. It's an apartment and you are free to do bring anyone you want inside, without being hassled.
Most of the time, when I stay more than 1 week in Patong, it's the kind of accomodation I choose.
Regards,
Bobby

Sting, since I have unfourtunatly not been to Phuket for about a year and a half, I am not quite sure where the place you mentioned is located. Is it near the Rock&Bowl? Also, how is security at the place? I will be taking a 5 day dive trip and do not want to haul all of my stuff with me. Would it be safe enough to leave it behind?
