ADSL in Thailand
I have 3 TT&T lines in my office but they can not deliver until October. (I asked 3 months ago but at that time they told me I had to wait 2 months.)
I asked for a TOT line 2 weeks ago, today they confirmed they are able to deliver a TOT ADSL line.
128/64 kbps. They will deliver in two weeks.
Next step is to chose an ISP. I saw Jasmine Internet has an unlimited hours/month deal for 3500 baht. Loxinfo charge 6000 baht for the same deal. (This is new, before you had to purchase hour packages.)
Now I have to find out if Jasmine is available in Phuket.
The story continues...

Good Hobbsy, then we can play games sometimes
Sam, if you are going to live here, ask the phone companies (TT&T and TOT available in Phuket) before your final decision for house/apartment.
In some (many) areas of Phuket they are NOT able to deliver phonelines because they are out of lines. This is also true for some areas in Patong.

Thanks, Nicke.... I want too and would love to live in Thailand but it is easier say than done at least $$ financially. For now I want to learn as much as possible about living in Thailand you know such as getting your hair cut, get a job, run a business, etc...
For now, I'm saving up and plan to learn about Thailand by vacation there twice a year.
Thanks for your input.

@nicke,
you said that in some areas in Patong ADSL or even a normal phoneline is not available.
I am going to rent a house in Nanai 2 (November) and urgently need ADSL for my work. Do you have any information about that place?
regards
Peter

Hi Peter,
I think Nanai 2 is one of the problem areas in Patong. My friend also have house there but he finally managed to get a phoneline anyway.
You should ask the lessee/owner of the house about this and maybe ask them to order a phoneline for you in advance.

hi nicke,
thanks for you quick reply. I will get in touch with the lessee and ask about my concerns.
Do you know anything about Internet via satellite?
I tried to explore several Thai Internet Pages but could not find satisfying answers. Its a pain in the a... to discover those pages.
First I supposed to rent in Phuket-town but now I changed my mind because of the far way to the hot spots.
About your motorbike I would also be interested to rent for some time.
Do you know any alternative houses to rent in Patong where I can be sure to get sufficient datafeed via Internet?
Great thanks for the past and every further information.
regards
Peter

The best way to find a house is to look around yourself, but it can be difficult in high season.
I know there are satellite services available, I know Phuket.com used one. They received data throught the satellite and a dial-up connection to transmit data.
I talked with a guy living in Kamala last month, he told me he were going to order a 256Kb satellite connection, that used the satellite in both directions. I think he told me 12000 baht/month but I am not sure.
If you have phoneline, ADSL is available in both 128 and 256 kb.
I am still waiting for my ADSL line...
