I was in the bar when it all happened, and have to say that the new bar maid was great about it all, and she got the job !!!!
Guess the lesson is to be over cautious next time and let the other bars "cough up the cash". Was good of the other BM's to turn up and gave me a chance to meet a few "new" faces.
