The madness has begun...
Looks like the madness has already started, went to turn into Bangla about 10 mins ago and all I could see up by U2/Kangaroo area was a mass of water, it's probably the BM's on tour starting the trouble
 Decided on Sawatdirak instead and they've started there too, although managed to sneak past. So, the bike is now securely chained to my gate and i will not be using it for the next 3 or 4 days, I may even give the key to someone to remove the temptation! Will be out in my speedos and thongs later then, probably the only time of year I will end up shirtless on Bangla

I was there last year, so I don't mind skipping it this year. Next year we get a Golden Week (Ching Ming Festival is day before Easter break) just before Songkran, so it would be a shame not to go - but I think I will spend Songkran at GF's village.

gfs working 0800 1500 tomorrow, so she is catching the song taw and her father is arranging a squad car to take her home.
gfs father will be at the next village supervising some sports. does not want his daughter getting wet or powder on the face too much. he worries too much about the gf catching cold, got to love them, but intense family.

i quite like songkran, but not the crazy farang type, how many times you want a drunk tourist throw water at you ?
my best songkran, walking on a suburban street in bkk and being invited to the party, thais only, absolutely great time.

It was allready a mess of water under Tiger last night.....they start way to early.
I think its fun for one night, but 3-4 is just crazy......I know a lot of the older expats are staying inn these days..... Guess I have to jump into it tonight and get my regular songkran-cold and eye-infection in a few days  Geir

the water, remember getting bombed by the children living on a construction site in bkk, every time back to the hotel and wash down with the dettol soap. dont want to scare the newbies, but the water wheres it from ?
is tiger like an ice rink with so much water on it ?

Most of the water is clean enough, but we also have some "waterfalls" on some of the walls in Tiger. And when it gets out of hands and people are taking water from these places its easy to catch a coold or an eye-infection.
Also seen people useing water from the streets to refill their guns.........dirty shit..... Geir

staying in tonight, visa run tomorrow, go for it thursday afternoon then got songers party in the evening. Gets too much after couple of days so decided to organise my time a bit, Duncs first one so I expect he'll come down tommorrow when we get back.
