i just found the best way to not get hassled by the tailors!!
walk down the street with my dog. they all see him and step back towards their doors. its great
one thing i dont understand is that hes not that big of a dog, only about 33-35kg. i just think, being a german shepherd, they havent seen him that much

As I always say, a German Shepherd is a 'proper' dog, none of these piddly little things that don't even come up to my knee. Not a surprise to hear you are getting more respect from the tailors!

My old man was a dog handler in the Met Police for years, and grew up with normally two German Shep's (one working, one training/retired) so absolutely adore them. Would love to have another one day, but being able to look after it and give it the attention it deserves is not possible at the mo, also the thought of losing another dog is too much to bear - we had something like 10 dogs in 10 years, and losing them to illness/old age etc.. was awful. Having to put down the last dog, holding her in my hands was the last straw - something I never want to do again.

I tried walking down Bangla with a dog once I brought with me from Aust.

But all she did was kept buying CD's and DVD's.

I raised and buried two Akitas(sometimes known as Japanese "German shephards"). Dug their graves on my land and put them down to rest. Cried like a baby both times.

I can imagine. The worst part about it was that we swore she knew what we were doing, and refused to get in the car that day. It really is one of the hardest things I have had to do - make a decision to end another animals life, even if it is for their benefit in the end. I cried like a baby and went back out to the car and my Mother was crying her eyes out too, we just sat there for 20 mins crying.

It's funny, both me and my Mother have not had pets since and this was about 10 years ago now, it's definitely stuck with both of us.

Well that's the best "tailor deterrant" I have heard of...we have two Dobermanns and I would love to walk down Bangla with them...they are a pair of pussies unless someone was to threaten me...then...forget it...dead meat!!

I am not looking forward to leaving them here in Oz when we go to LOS to live ...but at least I know they will be with family and well looked after (two of my sons) I would like to bring them but they wouldn't take too kindly to the lengthy stays in quarintine...She's 10 in June and he's 8 in September...they don't even like to be kennelled when we go on holiday...she got really sick after one stay and I nearly lost her with some strange blood infection she was on antibiotics for nearly a month!!

There are no quarrantine requirements to bring dogs from Oz into Thailand, but the other way around is a joke. But near in mind the costs, I just paid SGD$5000 to fly my 2 from Singapore to Sydney.

Yep, where else can you take dogs to any beach and have fun with them. Not like here in Sydney.

Only 19 days now until my 2 are released from quarrantine in Sydney.

Expolsive Handshake

This is what you need. The detonator- lips on your finger and you hold it with your thumb.

http://www.sillyjokes.co.uk/p-jokes/surprise/index.html

or this one

http://www.sillyjokes.co.uk/p-jokes/shocking/index.html

Just as they hold their hand out and say gaday mate- shake their hand and the explosive percussion cap goes off!!! They sh*t themselves.

They all knew me on the second night and gave me a wide birth- I'm walking down the road with a friend who say that he has worked their for 2 years and he still can't get rid of them- but takes me only one evening.

Regards

Drew

I figure the best way to not be bothered by them is to walk hand in hand with a TG.

You might also want 1) thick leather handling gloves 2) rabies shots 3) cattle prod and 4) tranquiliser gun just while the thing gets used to the leash....

Leashes are also useful for dragging BGs away from gold shop windows... though the same additional equipment will be required, only heavy duty.

Thinking about it... I've never seen the tailors harassing the guys with the elephants...

Stray dogs, unhealthy ones, sick ones, sometimes dangerous for kids...
Unless authority find a way to handle them give them condoms or simply
castrate them but they have to be reduced in numbers...

We can take our dogs to the beach where we are in Oz, mid north coast, also in the esturaries at low tied where they can run through knee deep water, swim or run on sand...fantastic!!

It is a kinder thing I do to leave them here and the quarrantine in Oz as you say is a joke...six months isn't it Stevem?

But I still would like to walk down Bangla with them and watch the tailors scatter!!!

JayBee...I think Paul was saying that it was costing him 15,000Baht to have him groomed and looked after with his gf...that when he had the works with the Vet/groomers it only cost 385 baht and that was very cheap!!! At least that's how I read it

Yes this month I have to take my two Dobes down to the Vet to have their annual shots, flea/tick protection and heartworm protection plus check-up...all costs me about AUD$325 (9262 Baht) and my Vet is cheap!!!
