Posts and Bar Owners
Being a new comer to this site i have a few questions of interest as to the history of board members and their on line habits. Feel free to answer all or any of them as you would like.
1. How many board members are bar owners in Patong.
2. Also i was amazed at the amount of posts some members have totalled,
how much time a week would you spend on this site? And who
actually is the most capped posterer of posts.
3. What year did you first come to Phuket or in particular Patong and do you
have any interesting contrasts with what you see now?
Any replies appreciated.

3. My first trip to Phuket/Patong was in 1997, and I have been there several times every year since that. Patong is not that different, but in these nine years the girls have not been a day older. How is that possible?

3 years in Chaweng Koh Samui and then 6 years in Patong. Have now left all the madness behind and moved back to Sydney with the misses.

Sure have all in the green, also being diabetic sort of makes you watch things alittle bit closer.

Paradise Bar
I first came to Patong in 2002. I remember a bar on the beach road called the Paradise bar near soi kebsup. I liked it there, good for watching sport whilst enjoying the beach scenery and eventually the sunset. Never understood why it closed down to be replaced by t-shirt and handbag shops.
Thai politics i suppose. I was told it was one of the oldest bars in Patong and had some great old photos on the wall. Mind you the tsunami would have smashed it to pieces.

Ah yes, i have a friend who is diabetic too, but he cant handle his liquor at all. Combined with him getting high / or low on sugar aswell. I guess he's not looking as closely as you are mate.
He blames it on the diabetics when he's taking a nap outside the supermarket, i call it being dead drunk. He also blamed it on the diabetics when he couldnt find his way home and was trying to get into his neighbors house, trough a window.

Alcohol and diabetes do not mix well. The alcohol initially creates a high sugar level, but then peaks and falls rapidly, causing a very dangerously low sugar level, to point where some people pass out. Folks around then believe that they are just drunk, where in actual fact they are not far off a diabetic coma. Very dangerous.
If you are out drinking with a mate that is diabetic you should keep a very close eye on him, and have a couple of sugar sachels in your pocket just in case.

Ques. for Stevem
Steve,
First time i came to Thailand (2001) i went to Chaeweng (Koh Samui) as a welsh guy i was sharing a house with in Surry Hills, Sydney wouldn't stop raving about the place and i thought i had better check it out. Stayed at Moby ****'s which was run by a Norweigan guy i think he was called Morton. An english guy called Rick was running a retaurant there too. He had a tiger tattoo on his leg and an Arsenal cannon tattoo on his arm. I have never been back there as i got into other places. Just wondering if you have heard of these 2 and if they are still there.

Yep, we keep him on a close leash when we are outside Stevem, because if we dont the police will. But there has been one time when the police was gonna pick him up because they thought he had been using drugs. Fortunatly the cure for him was a ham sandwhich that time.

i was told the lease ran out so it got torn down to make way for a number of smaller pitches,i.e. more pitches ,more rents

I don't know what "most capped" means, but I think that is definitely Irish Jonny since all his posts are in CAPS, and he has far and away the most posts!! He is on here every working day from 8 to 5 (Irish time), because he gets paid for doing it while he is at work!
LivinLos would definitely come in second. He is a man of independent means and has to have an excuse to hole up in his computer room just to get some peace away from all the TGs who are chasing him every day because he is such a hansum man, and such a khon jai dee maak maak!

Paradise bar was great really miss it was good for watching all the stupid tourists walking past and the trouble the ones with strollers caused, and having an earlier beer before bangla.
