Try the supperclub, its near Surin, on the way to Laguna. Its got good food, generally western though. There are also other restaurants next to it which are pretty good. Otherwise like the other guys said, Silk is great in Surin plaza and the oriental spoon does a great brunch and you get a bottle of wine with brunch and the wine isn't bad at all.

I have just driven past The Surin Bay Inn and the Restaraunt is closed and seems to full of building materials.Can't remember when you said you are going to be staying there but I thought you may want to check out what they are up to.

Johnny I was in Surin last night at Envision party, there does seem to be a lot of work being done on the hotel and although things here move very fast cannot see that being completed by early july.

I understand what you are saying about a chilled holiday and how you are going to spread pats,patong and still go into patong every 3 days but think personally Surin is too far out (tuk tuks don't like going so far and will charge i'm guessing 400 to 500bht), would have recommended Karon for location, kata or kata noi for chilled but still got restaurants and bars and things to do, even kamala has more life at this time of year and it is nearly all shut up. Surin has a nice beach but not many bars, Johnny if they admit the building work take the opportunity to check out and consider one of the k's, even when chillin you need a few things to do and there is very little open and available in Surin or on the other hand tell me to butt out its your vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ive Cancelled Surin........the Hotel Got Back To Me And Said It Mite Not Be Ready.........
So Im In Phkt For The First 5 Days......then Patts For 3 Days........
After That..im Just Gonna Wait And See What Happens When I Come Back From Patts...

i suggest karon or kata as well. i have 2 very good hotels, one in karon on the beach and one in kata. both very nice hotels and should be about 1000baht in low season. let me know

Did some change in plans,i go straight to Phuket,
will be there 7 of July in the evening and stay for 3 weeks or so,and then take the last week in BKK.

We have to meet up for the WC final
I stay ats bills place as you now

hi irish jonny.divers bar for a sundown from 4pm is great.
terry is the owner at surin bay inn,great guy.we usually drink at divers then head back to terrys at surin bay.
nice food at paulas cafe,next door to surin bay inn.
down the road [5 minutes tuk tuk 100 baht]is a great seafood restaurant,and bar.weaves bar and restaurant is located at the manathai hotel,very nice.
down the road at changtalay is a great pub called bbs.music on sundays from 5pm.
divers bar is the best and you will meet a lot of great people
