Not Phuket Ok not even Thailand actually. On the island of Komodo during mating season. Two big males fighting over one female, nothing changes there then. I was a bit nervous taking these shots, these guys have skin like metal but still they were ripping each other to pieces, if you look closly at the first picture what appears to be a stick in the Dragons mouth is actaully his lips which have been nearly ripped clean off.

This is my 3rd in about a week....so there must be a whole herd of them around here :-( Looks like a bit of camerashake because I hate them. The cats dealt with the last 2 but weren't around to sort this one. The ones round here aren't poisonous are they?

this is the warning on a travel website i used ages ago and saved,
Poisonous Scorpions in Thailand
Skorpion
Size: < 10 cm
Habitat: Throughout Thailand, ground level only.
Characteristics: Colour is from grey to brown and black.
Danger level: harmless
The scorpions in Thailand do have poison, however it is so mild that it is comparable to the sting of a bee or a wasp. The sting is painful but harmless, however some people might develop an allergic reaction. The sting should therefore be immediately disinfected.
For conservation reasons please do not kill these animals, but catch them and free them into the wild.
