Phuket Wildlife pics
Went to put my shoes on this morning and this little chap was perched on one.
Rather him than one of his 3 foot long cousins I swerved to avoid on the bike the other day.

LOL, he even waited while I went back in to get my camera then posed with that look as if to say "who the fcuk are you looking at!"
Note that he chose to sit on the dirtiest smelliest pair...not the freshly drycleaned sweet smelling trainers alongside

I'll have to get a pic of my little house pet too. Just the normal gecko variety (no long tail)
He moved in under my freezer a few months back, which is right next to where I sit in on the computer. Now the little bugger seems to have moved in to my toaster!! every time I go and get a bite he legs it out to safety behind the freezer. While I don't mind him staying, as he seems to keep the bugs at bay, he freaks me out running all over the place in a mad panic. There's also the question of unpaid rent as well

Been raining baby squirrels lately from the trees in the park down near the beach. Most get scooped up by the cats. I guess if you're born 30 feet above ground and your eyes don't open for 10 days or so you have a very good chance of taking a tumble :-(
This one's being nursed by one of the restauarant owners down there....or maybe being fattened up for the wok!

Better not let a TG see that bug site...she'll be salivating as it will look like a food menu to her.

LandofSMiles, cool lizard. Are the cousins ever kept as pets until they grow past 12"?
Thanks for Posting. Makes life more interesting.

A good old friend of mine... http://www.mark-ju.net/wildlife/images/gecko2.jpg
the "kookay" or "kopkaew-lizard"...used to have it all the time at the Expat Hotel before...but on the demand of the "regular" tourist, who is scared of the noise he`s making..he`s been removed !!
I`ve told teerak that exept coming down from Issan by herself..bring a prime spe***en of a "kopkaew" with you..they bring god luck and they are excellent bug killers !!

Creepie crawlies
Just when I think I'm used to the quirks of living in Thailand, I'm caroming the car around the corner by the elephant camp and my wife screams, "GIBBON!!!", and I have to swerve around a monkey the size of a German Shepherd.
Sorry, no pics - the action was too fast. However, here's a couple of wildlife pics from around the house. I don't know what the worm thingy is but my wife is terrified of it and says it's poisonous. Personally I was more terrified of the spider, which was so big it could sit on your face and tickle both ears.
The most terrifying critter was a (I'm serious here) two-foot centipede that came running straight at me from under the bed. Again no pictures. Too busy screaming like a little girl.

Did it look something like this??
You should invite a few geckos to come stay with you...they'll get most of the bugs for you :-)
