BG Migration Patterns
Wondering.
Does anyone know if the BG's tend to move around from one town to another so they are always 'fresh' in town or do they tend to establish themselves in one place and stay there as long as their work prospers?
Just had visions of the girls travelling from one tourist hot spot to another or wonder why a girl would choose to go to Pattaya rather than Phuket or Krabi (where incidentally, on my first trip to Thailand and the very first time a TG 'fell in love with me' and I believed her; outside her bar; I paid 1500B, in advance, handed money to her boss, for 3 hour ST!! Live and learn.
Lady I met in Patong who works as masseuse at hotel opposite Christin's had lived in Patong for last 5 years apart from 3 month 'holiday' in Switzerland to visit her cousin last year.

I met a BG who traveled from one city to another. she went where the money was.
But, not sure if this was commonplace with all

The mass movement of BGs into the tourist hot-spotsat the start of high season is often referred to as the "invasion of the Isaan Army"
Many girsl I've talked to seem to have tried different places and long-termers settle in a place they more-or-less like and have friends and regular customers. Remember they often share accommodation and form tight little groups living in each other's pockets.

"Buffalo Alf" and his "Congress of Rough Riders of the World".
PS. For all the "blind gits" , the small print says "The real rough riders of the world , whose daring exploits have made their very names synonymous with deeds of bravery".

When bgs first locate they tend to go where they have friends already working i have never met a bg who has worked in both pattaya and patong the only bgs who have been in both places have gone to one or the other with a farang they have hooked up with. i have met many bgs who starrted off in bangkok then moved on .

I would Personaly have thought besides Pattaya, Bangkok would have been the best place to be.... Majority of people who go into Thailand will go through Bangkok and you also get the buisness traveller who might be routed through Bangkok for a night or so.....Mind you i suppose accomodation in Bangkok would be moe expensive than most other places... But still when i read that i was a little suprised......

Just an observation, but I think I've encountered more BGs with their kid(s) in BKK than in Patong where kids seem to be left with the family in the sticks. Just a vague impression at the moment, not sure what to make of it...

They seem to shuttle back and forward between BKK and Patong quite a bit. I've recognised and said hello to a few that I've met in both places.

As said before i also think the most bgs stay where their friends work. (or where they started to work. maybe not the same bar, but the same city).
But there are always exceptions. I know one stunner who has 4 motobikes all over thailand. One in chiang mai, one in bkk, one in pattaya and one in phuket. She changes the place everytime she want to. But she is very clever and a real stunner. (and of cours a FL)....

Most girls seem to stay put. In tends to be a village or local area thing where they come from and its usually bar driven......
e.g. most girls is a 40km radius near my village, go to either love bar or euro bar in patong. Very few end up in other resorts.
If a customer likes to split his holiday then the BG will of course will go along at the customer's request, so you see lots of girls in Samui and BKK but their base is Patong
Ive seen very few girls working in multiple locations and very few in my experience seem to move between Phuket and Pattaya
The exception to this was the sunami when loads of girls who worked in patong, temporarily went to BKK, Samui and Pattaya
In terms of how close knt BG's are, this isnt expressely a BG thing, its the way people live in rural Thailand
If you think about it, BG begaviour in terms of migration is no different than any other job, you follow were the jobs are

faces
thats interesting graham, thats sort of the way i saw it.
i like to look at the bgs faces and see the similarities amongst those who seem to work in the same bar. it really seems to me as only a customer so very interesting to look at their interactions with each other eg pecking order etc, and then look at their body type.
1 girl passes on the message and others follow, it must have been going on since the days of the vietnam war in this way.

It'sa not justr a LOS thing... In London's hospitals you'll find the cleaner's in one are mostly filipino, in another they'll be mostly Spanish or the porters will be Eastern European and elswhere Senegalese.
One gets a foot in the door and then word of up-coming vacancies reach that community first. That plus a word of recommendation from within and, of course, people will work better together if they cultural commonalities.
