Bars Closed For 2 Days

I have just read on the pattaya site that all the bars in los will be closed for 2 nights (bhuda holidays) on monday july 10 and tuesday july 11 .

i am sick of this bo-locks every time i come to los i dont work all year to come holiday to a place where all the bars are closed total cr-p

i will be in pattaya on the 10th staying at the penthouse so not too worried there as he will have an inhouse party in his gg bar (closed doors)

but on the 11th in bangkok christ i dont know what to do there apart from fixing up a girl or two on my first day in bangkok on july 2nd

Believe that it is only the 11th July that is bar closing day (Buhddist Lent) - the 10th there is a street festival in Bangla Road - so bars pretty certainly open then.

Kings generally rank a little lower than Buddha on the Thai closure scale tho Alf..

No real idea on the closures tho.

I know the bars in Phuket closed for that (Hobbsy told me whilst crying) and Bkk bars were normal.
For sure there will be bars open in Bangers... To be sure, so it is...

Also not to be picky but it want the kings (60th or any) birthday.. Was the 60th aniversary of his coronation.. Hes actually 80 odd and looking pretty ok for it IMO..

To be fair most people seemed to get that wrong.. Had a big argument with my missus who swore it was his 60th birthday and gave me the whole.. You not Thai.. Me Thai.. I know.. Was sweet when she had to admit defeat (damn I am petty )..

Fact is, on bar closure days, if you know which bars are THAI owned you can usually get your favourite tipple disguised On one recent closure I remember drinking JD and coke through a straw out of a coke bottle

Cool Don't think it's bar closing

Last year this holiday was observed but it is a minor day not a big one and the bars were open.It is a public holiday for banks etc.

Maybe K2 will get the inside gen.

TALLY no one observes thai customs and traditions more than me but its bicoming silly thats 3 holidays in a row i have had bar closing nights
what the hell am i suposed to do if the bars are closed ?
watch thai tv i dont think so
as some of the guys say there is always somewhere for a drink but usualy no band/music/dancers i dont drink in places like that in scotland so why travel to los
anyway thats my moaning bastr-d finsihed for the night 55555 as my mentor RAB C NESBETT would say " see me i will walk alone
i will survive " despite the inconvenience
who knows i may have such a wild time in the nights before i will be glad of a night off the drink 5555555

the closings for the elections and then continued elections were ridiculous, but i dont think any of us can complain about bar closings for thai holidays!!
its not our country

Had one of my craziest nights when the bars were closed for elections last April at Areeya's private party!

I hate it when the bars are closed and you can't get alcohol. I allways go to my room completely p*ssed on those nights.

Talbotman,

don't get me wrong, I sympathise with you... it sucks.
However look at the big picture... it's only 2 out of X nights in LOS.
And I'd rather be out there (even if the bars are closed) than back home, going to work every day.
I'm sure you'll enjoy your 'dry' days more than most of us, whatever the circumstances
