Pattaya or Angeles City?

I have been to Thailand 5 times and Pattaya 3 times and I love Pattaya!!! But the only problem is that Pattaya is flooded with too many tourists.

I have also been to Angeles City, Philippines 4 times and I also love this place.
In addition, Angeles City hardly has any tourists and remains a hidden paradise!

With the Philippines only 3 hours away from Thailand, why is it that there are more and I mean a lot more tourists, that visit Pattaya over Angeles City?

(I read somewhere that there are 10 million tourists that visit Thailand each year where the Philippines only gets about 1 million tourists that visit a year.)

Have been to both, spent about the same time in each country.

more to do in Thailand than in the Philippines whether or not you are going for the ladies.

Way more resort areas in Thailand than in PI, much better known, more tourist attractions, better nightlife for couples.

Charter flights and lots of regular airlines fly from Europe to Thailand---shorter flight from Europe to Thailand.

Best Beach Areas
Boracay----hardly any ladies around, very little nightlife except sitting on beach listening to various bands whether you are a couple or single guy.

Phuket----ladies everywhere, lots of discos for single men or couples to dance at, Eurpoean or US like infrastructure--ie movie theatres, bowling alleys, hospitals, go kart tracks, golf, etc.

Koh Samui the same as Phuket

Angeles City---only reason to go there is if you are a single guy, couples and single women would never go there.

Pattaya is bigger, maybe not quite as cheap as AC, but at least it has a beach and other entertainment nearby

Thailand Gay scene is much larger for people of that persuasion

Thailand more culturally interesting

Hi Rios.

I wrote a long report on AC in the board members on tour section. As you might guess if you get round to reading it, I would prefer and recomend Pattaya absolutely any time, for hundreds of reasons.

But I agree that it's a shame that the Philippines doesn't have a great tourist industry. There are some wonderful, fascinating places to visit, like the islands of Bohol (if you're interested, please do a google images search and look at the 'Chocolate Hills of Bohol' - they really are amazing!) and the island of Negros. And the people are the sweetest on earth.

But they also have one of the most corrupt ruling elites on earth, who control the government absolutely and siphon off all the money, so nothing gets done - not even streetlighting and road repairs. Such a shame.
