i brought this up in an earlier post and some of the bars in soi eric charge 160 baht with 1 bar i found charging 180 baht.its extortion.best thing to do is find out what the lady drinks then just order 2 of them and give her 1,it will piss her off but who cares.

Seems do be a cartel.

Years ago, the barfine was 100 Baht. Some had the idea to rise up the barfine to 200 Baht. All follow this idea.
Now the same will happen with the lady drink!!
Where will this go?????

Oh, I forgot: the high season is coming so the rates must have a higher level before beginning of the big run!!!

What bullshit, as R3aps pointed out he found some bars with high ld price but to say ALL bars on Soi Eric charges 150 baht is really not true.

I guess just 4-5 bars charge that and the rest 120. But I will do some investigation now.

But I guess some people want to make problems for us since many bars on other streets are really struggling.

Lady drinks don't get charged different rates from low to high season.

If they do then walk away and find a better bar. There was some discussion about the price of lady drinks in Soi Eric being expensive on another message board recently too..

I'll give you all an update when i return in 6 weeks

Another excuse for many visitors to spend their time and money in Pattaya rather than Phuket...

On the other hand if you think 180 baht is bad, try flying from Thailand to Hong Kong (Wanchai) as I did last year, where they charge you a cool 1200 baht for a lady drink OUCH!!

I've learnt my lesson - always ask the price before you buy...

or the alternative is to not buy the lady a drink and take her to another bar where you pay normal price.

come on lads
were all moaning about lady drinks starting from 150baht to 180baht which is only an extra 40p from the cheap ones.
you buy a woman / lady a drink in England and pay £ 4.20 for a bottle of fizzy quash ( e.g breezer ) your be paying 260baht.
like a few people have said. If you get caught once then you don't go back to that bar the rest of your holiday. that's why some bar are quiet anyway.
for me when i buy a lady drink i make sure it's a drink with alcohol and not a soft drink only. you might as well by then a coke at 40baht in the first place.

you know what its like a couple of bars start it and every one else becomes tarred with the same brush, i was only wondering if it was going to set a president to the rest of bangla road,especially as the main season draws ever near.
when it comes to lady drinks is it just the individual bars policy what the girls drink (i.e a splash of a soft drink) or is it up to the girls themselves?
As for Hong kong i also learnt the hard way about bar fines ,when i went to settle up they took every dam dollar out my wallet,my own fault i know should of checked the score before hand .
still the is something about Hong kong that you can not help but love ,bit like LOS.

I don't have a problem with getting a person that I am with a drink, if I am DEFINATELY going to take them home and hump them.

BUT!

It is now too expensive to go into bars and buy EVERY damn BG a drink who comes and talks to you for five minutes. Sometimes you want to go to a few different bars, have a beer and move on, but you get the usual "Hello, what your name, where u from, can I have a drink?", and if you do it in a few bars every night you could spend 1,000 to 2,000 baht on drinks for girls you don't want anything to do with.

Bollocks to it. I don't mind being called a cheap charlie. I have been in bars in Pattaya where if you buy the girl a drink, she will let you play with her tits and she will toss you off a little bit. Now THATS service!!

Just as it will annoy me if drinks prices go up in Patong, Baz is right to put the cost into perspective.

I am in Hong Kong (wanchai) now and you soon appreciate the costs in Thailand. Still its nice to hang out with some Filipino girls for a change (and a few Columbians here too) and we manage to keep the costs of night out down as my old mans ex-girlfriend is a mamasan here and she sends her army of girls out to get drinks and food for us hehehe. And we get some company while theyre not 'busy' too

Hong Kong is great and well worth a visit but at at least 10 times the cost of LOS for a night out you have to watch your wallet

Yes, lot of raining the last few days with floodings at some locations causing damage.
