buying thai cds online now...
I usually wait until I am in thailand to purchase these music cds. But I couldn't wait anymore, so I went to www.ethaicd.com and ordered an album by Hyper. I have been listening to the same cd that I listened to when I was in thailand. Memoriesssssss... but now I am getting kind of tired of it, its been a month of the same album.
I know I won't get a chance to go back this year so I just broke down and purchased it. I usually download my Thai VCDs but now a days it has been lacking, and I rather support these artists.
Anyone else interested in thai music?
Most of the singers I have been listening to :
UHT, Tata Young, Nicole T., Potato, I..Nam (one of the best! IMO), Bodyslam, Dan And Beam, Lydia.. the list goes on...

Hi WildOne,
Try to get your hands on stuff from LOSO.
My absolute favourite is Som Sarn:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yNJoH...a%20thail and
Go and learn some thai at the same time
( http://www.geocities.com/joe3phort/loso/somsarn.html)
Also "Mai dai lauk tur" from Loso is great. I don't have a link, but if you pm me I can sent it to you.
Yep, Thai music is great. Last time I've been there everyone seemed to play R&B ??? WTF ? One girl in a bar at Walking Street told me that they are not allowed to play Thai music since most tourists don't like it, bad for business...quite a shame in my opinion.
Greetings

yeah it is a shame. I usually associate the place and time with the music that I hear. I didn't realize they are not allowed to play thai music in bars. I do know they are not allowed to sell bootleg Thai cds on the streets. Btw : thanks, the music is pretty nice. And yes music is an excellent protocol for rian pa sa thai.

Theres nothing that says they cannot play Thai music in bars.. Only they are trying to appeal to the western tourist demographic who in general dont rate Thai music much..

I have never listend to Thai music... Such a shame tho.... .Are there any bands reccomended? I have started watching some of the Thai movies (only the more mainstream ones that are generally released by Tartan asia extreme/premier asia) and found them on the whole to be good but music could be qquite intresting.... See what its all about..

Myself just came out of the bath tub with my iPod, guess what I'd listen to ?
