To be honest i had some problems finding it as well... although everytime i've gone looking for it i've already had a bit too many, so i'm guessing thats why... But i will be in MTB soon as i get paid to have a couple of drinks and meet the bm's.... MTB is supposed to be down soi eric, not sure if its on the right or on the left though. Good luck finding it.. I suggest you start at MTB, because when i start at other places i have never made it to MTB, so next time i will be starting in MTB.

The road next to the Beach is commonly called Beach Rd. The next road that runs parallel to it is the main street in town, one long block from the beach and is called Rat-U-Thit Rd. From the intersection of Rat-U-Thit and Bangla Road( the road that is all bars/clubs and is the heart of the entertainment district), head towards the beach, walking along on the right side of Bangla Road. The first soi is Tiger, which is actually open air bars under a disco. The second soi is Lion, which is a small one. The third soi is Seadragon, which is like a street with bars on both sides and in the middle, as well. The 4th soi is Soi Eric, which has a sign out front, and is kind of a shopping mall of bars, with bars on both sides and and tiled common area with table for sitting in the middle. MTB is in Soi Eric. Mai Thai Bar is about mid way down the soi on the right hand side.

You can't miss it! Tell Nicke I said hello!

Ah goodonya Jaybee...thanks for that...he's sent you right there...but Dad has a map that I gave him of all the sois in Bangla...go through the paperwork I gave Dad...You'll find the maps...

See all the guys are in here to help you...and there are 33 BMs on tour at the moment including IJ, Allybaba and Talbotman...amongst the 30 others...boy this bloody forum is quiet without them...

PS The MTB doesn't open till after dark....you'll have to drink in bars in Bangla during the day...BMs start turning up in MTB after 8.00pm (I think)

Go from the Beachroad into Bangla Road towards Tie Pan disco, somewhere in the middle of Soi Bangla there is Soi Eric, go in there and in the middle there is Mai Thai Bar. Nicke and Ead are the owners, have a beer overthere and say hello to them from Jean-Pierre.

Hey Cybie we booked their tickets and accommodation and have tried to nurse them through the whole thing...they'll be fine...

They just have to go through all the "newbie" things that we all have had to go through in the beginning....

IN THE BEGINNING.......could be a thread...LOL

Emmmm...... sounds like my first night every trip!

My best advice is not to drink too much at bkk airport, as this is the starting point to my first night!

But I have pulled one of the waitresses at the airport bar! So its not all bad!

As one of the ealier post were saying where to eat! Id thought id add this....

Reading on of the travel guides when bored last year, I came across their recomendation for places to eat in Los. I was very suprised when I found what their best choice for Patong was! It was the Italian/Thai restaraunt in Soi Eric! But thinking about it, I can see why! I Like the Grilled/BBQ Salmon steak! But the best people to ask must be NIcke or the Hobbsy, as they both eat there most nights!

Hello Folks. By the way, what is the protocol when you get to MTB? Yell and state your handle or what? I’m a few days away from by trip and I definitely want to meet BM’s who make this sight so enjoyable and educational…

Hi M&M, It would be great to get a trip report from Sonya when she returns home.

A perspective on how she viewed Thailand and especially the night life in Phuket as a "first timer" would be interesting reading.

Hope Her and her Dad enjoy the experience.
