Orange Long Live the King bracelet

Any other BM;s buy one of these at the 7/11's and wear them outside of Thailand? Tonight I went with a friend to a cool little Thai restaurant in Paris and the place was packed. Of course, we didn't have a reservation and saw several people get turned away...but then I noticed that the Thai waitress had the same orange bracelet for the king that I was wearing...after showing her mine, she made a great effort to find us a table and treated us like we had backstage passes! That was pretty cool! And the food was good and the Singhas were cold...mmm, missing LOS now, 3 more long weeks to go till i'm back in the saddle, so to speak...

Thai Restaurants

I have one on now.

When travelling in Europe I alwasy try and find the local Thai Restaurant to try the food and see how good it is. Is it really authentic or does it serve 'fish cakes' and other silly dishes that you dont see in LOS.

Most restaurants have Thai staff and it is always really amusing when you talk to them in Thai, they make a real fuss of you and usually bring the Chef out to meet you.

I think they just like to be treated with a bit of respect, rather than having some dinners look down their nose at them like they are some kind of lower class immigrants. It alwasy winds me up when I hear people making fun of them.

I always make an effort, as it can't be easy being so far from home in a cold climate.

Regards

Drew
