Has anyone heard of this place in LOS?

There is either a spelling mistake or someone (a TG) is yanking my chain. A search on google draws a blank

Spelling mistake. Correct spelling* is "Phranakorn Sri Ayutthaya." It is the name of the province where the city of Ayutthaya is, and is actually the proper name for the city of Ayutthaya also. Like if you were to mail something to Ayutthaya, it is the address you would write on the envelope to get it there. It is 76 kilometers due north of BKK, and only 49 klicks from BKK airport. It was the capital of LOS in ancient times. Never been there, but very nice place, from what I've heard about it.

*It is also spelled as Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya. Here is a link to a map which shows where it is, and has a nice zoom feature. http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.c...00000&ic on=x

Its a very nice place... The ruins are well worth a look if you ever get a chance to go.... When walking around you see some of statues where the buddha heads have been cut off by the burmese when the captured Ayutthaya back in April 1767 (i think) ... I think it was the second time the Burmese had descended on Ayutthaya I think it was 1770 when the first attempted to capture it.... when the Burmese first captured Ayutthaya it was hard to imagine that they were bhuddist aswell because of what they had done to the statues there... You get a sense of the history there.... You can do it in a day trip from Bangkok... Its good but would like to spend a couple of days there next time i go...
