I know the owerners are they are nice people.

It's the better of the three pubs in the laguna area but I'm not much of a pub guy.

Like any typical pub, watch footy, drink beer, paly pool.

I found this pub through the Phuket Directory website.

Oo are the onwers American? I like pubs that provide old school feel.

When i was driving to Laguna Beach Resort, i notice many Wine bars? Forgot the name.

What other pubs are there?

I'm planning my December trip of staying in Karon and Bang Tao. Just want a lil luxury and a change of venue. Been staying at Patong for my past 2 trips.

Thank you and cheers.

The owners are brits.

I live in the north and these are my recomendations:

Pubs: Peppers, BB's (across the street) surin bay inn (lots of locals not really a pub)
Restaurants: Weaves (in Surin beach at Manathai hotel) Silk for Thai food, Friday night happy hour at Watermark (20 min drive) Oriental Spoon at Twin Palms hotel great brunch, Siam deli for a sandwich and internet, Rockfish in Kamala Beach,
I'm forgetting a restaurant on the beach but I will remember it. Envision wine bar in Surin (good wine)

I hope this helps

This list might be a little biased but I live in this area.

urtheman, thank you very much for all the information.

Sorry, but another question, are these bars and restaurants within short driving distance of the Laguna Beach Resort?

Just a warning for those going to the north and decideing to eat at a restaurant named "Lotus", its in the lauguna area, its nice and by the beach. Food is fantastic, but pay in cash if possible...

Went there with my family for lunch over the weekend. My dad paid with his credit card and an hours later Ammex called to tell my dad that they had cancelled his card. When my dad asked why, they said someone used his credit card and tried to buy something in Japan...

I didn't know Ammex had technology like that... Its fantastic.... But even more surprising for me was that someone was able to copy his information so quickly... It was the only place my dad used his credit card all weekend... So just a warning...

Yes, you could probably even walk it (depending on which hotel you're staying in). The Whispering **** is my favourite of the few bars there. Good food and nice bloke that owns it.

PhuketBlue, i would be staying at the Laguna Beach Resort. I like that place after i visited my friend there earlier this year in May.

I was driving there from Patong, not bad area. Quiet and nice. I just dont want to eat and drink in the hotel that's all.

Insomniac, where is this Lotus? I have only eaten at Tom Yum Goong, a restaurant on the beach just outside the Laguna Beach Resort hotel.

I read a lot of fraud cases in Phuket, also some involving good hotels. Really scary. I always book online with a reputable company or the hotel itself, and everything else paid cash in Phuket.
