what is the exchange rates for us dollar and english pounds.
just want to know before i get my travellers cheques.
the reason is english to thai baht is only 60 baht per pound over here at the moment so i might see if you get better rate is i use dollars.

You can check online but from what I remember USD is 39 baht and Euro 45.70 baht. I had to change euro today so thats why I looked.

I guess UK pound is 65 baht, thats the latest I heard.

The best rate may be with ATMs if you have visa/mastercard, especially for larger amounts.

just checking which tc to use for the exchange rate.
after two weeks in los i could save enough on exchange rate for a free night of drinking and boom boom.
anything is better then giving it away to the exchange people here or abroad.

Hi Baz,

I NEVER take travellers cheques to LOS. I cant be bothered with carrying a passport out to the shop and signing all the cheques.

I take 2 credit cards with me. I always have a hotel or room with a safety deposit box. I never go out with both cards on me. One in the box, one in the wallet. If you withdraw around 100 pound or more every time, then you get charged about 2 pound for the transaction, and the exchange rate that you get is good too.

Its easy and safe. Never had a problem.
