to me its better than songkran, loy krathong is the festival for lovers, and its gentle beauty outshines the drunkeness of songkran.
only spent loy krathong with my gf now wife, it is truly beautiful to part of something special.
bugger me i am all romantic now and the cynicism is on the backburner.
watching the young lovers, and also watching the oldies renew their love for each other, do i as farang really understand it ?, not sure, but it certainly is beautiful.

One of the best things I have seen in los so far, sadly I can't be there this year but would be if I could. Chiang Mai is fantastic for the atmosphere.

Like some of you already saw in the Nightlife-Phuket in November-thread there is posted a website that says Loy Krathong is on 15 November. Can someone clear this. Is't 5th or 15th? Both sites in this thread say 5th in the other it 15th. All sites look reliable!!!! ANYONE.....?????

Which google just threw back as 5th... So I am betting on 5th... 2005 was 16th so perhaps people are just stating what it was last year.

Yip LIL, you're right. Lunar says 5th. So i'll stick to that. Allthough the site in the other thread said 15th 2006. Proberbly a "1" to much.TIT
