Want some Connect 4 Practise?
Hi Guys,
Sick and tired of being beaten at "Connect 4" by those pesky BG's, help is at hand download this free program. You can change the default language (German) by selecting “Einstellungen” then select “Sprache” then choose from English, Netherlands, Italian or Spanish.
Enjoy…………….
(Anybody else here Manx?)

I love watching my son "beat the BGs" in Connect 4...
One day we were sitting in a bar having a sesh and Robbie was with us playing connect 4 with a BG...he won 17 our of 20 games and she was getting so upset that she even enlisted the help of her friends to try to beat him...but it didn't work and he kept winning...she got so upset in the end that I was telling Robbie to lose on purpose as she was nearly crying and losing too much face...

There is a knack to it. If you go first in the center column & you know what your doing, you will never be beaten, best your opponent can do is draw. So always use this as your opening move, so long as you don't make any stupid mistakes you will win every time.
Practise with the download game & you will soon become a "Grand master" & the girls will be most annoyed with pouting lips that stick out so far that you could hang your coat on them.
But it is only fair to let your opponent go fist every now & then.
(Of course if your crap them no matter what you do you will be beaten).

Once you learn the basic strategies of how not to get your ass kicked, i.e., proper positioning on the board, then the whole game comes down to one of counting even and odd numbers as to figure out who will get stuck at the end.
When you have reached that point, then you will be able to beat the BGs who aren't so bright, or have a short attention span, or don't have many months of practicing behind them.
I'm not too good at the counting game part of it, but can kick ass on the dumb girls and do about 50/50 with the brighter ones, often better than 50/50, when I am focused, because even smart girls get distracted some of the time!
When I was in Cambodia, I played with the girls there sometimes for hours, and that is where I learned to get better at it. The girls there are very, very good at it, and are extremely focused, rarely getting distracted by anything. On average, they are a lot better at it than the LOS BGs, IMHO. When I returned to LOS, I could hold my own with the better of the BGs in LOS, and kick ass with the lesser ones!

Practice makes maybe perfect...
I've been practicing for a while now since I had never played this game before. I just don't want to make a complete idiot out of myself when I get there next March. There are many sites where you can play on-line and probably more than few you can download free from. I use one I downloaded that gives hints, so I just hinted to whole game away to look for the patterns of how the player can win against the computer and it quickly gave me a better idea of what needs to happen. Along with these sites you can find information on strategy as well.

The advise you give here is not really what I call a "walkthrough" but hey...I always would like to start in the center for that game

won some big money off the bgs on the dice, but they will try everything to distract you, down to t*ts in the eyes from the watching bgs.

New Connect 4 -3D.
We have the new connect 4 in 3D mode in the bar. A couple from the UK were in town for a couple weeks and told me about the 3D option. Well, after a couple weeks had gone by, a parcel turns up. They went and bought it for us....
It's a great game. I prefer it much more than the original version. More thinking goes into it and many more options of winning.
I beat most of the girls at it, but GOD forbid when they know how to play this one. As they are in learning mode, not so good but when they do know. Just that many more options for them to win...
It's a fun game and the girls have a great time with games at the bars. Very innocent fun which is great to have at times....

Mike just jogged my memory of another funny story...
We decided on an early drink on this day so around opening time at 11.00am we went into the U2 Annex...this was pre Tsunami...the staff have changed since then...but at that time the lady bar manager made really fantastic Margaritas...Breakfast of champions!!!
We went in and took our normal stools and on the other side of the bar was a young Irish bloke...He was absolutely maggot and playing connect 4 with a bg girl for money...I don't know how he got this drunk so early...maybe it was a carry-over from the night before...
Anyway he was losing hand of fist to this girl...all the while telling us his life story and how he had just gotton out of a detention centre in Oz for overstaying his visa...He said that he was planning to stay in LOS for a month but had already spent most of his money and had only been there a couple of days and said he hadn't been sober since he got there...
He was so maggot there was no way in creation he was going to win a game!!!
Well it looked like he wasn't going to have ANY money left after playing connect 4 with this bg...it was so funny he was absolutely motherless drunk!!!
We knocked down about 6 margaritas and left after a couple of hours...but he was still there falling off his barstool and losing money!!!
