Anti-Thaksin Forum..?
Is it my imagination or is the constant stream of articles from anti-Thaksin "The Nation" turning this forum into anti-government political feed?
Just seems unbalanced and is definately making me uncomfortable.

Same same Jonny. I try my best to keep out of all political and religious debates. Biggest cause of arguements ever IMO.

Why is that Ken? Are you a big believer in fairness and a balanced approach to political reporting, or are you one of the thousands who gets some sort of kick back from the bent PM of LOS

The Nation is one of the biggest newspaper in English in Thailand, so the news is out there. I dont think they are anti-thaksin, but they report what seems to be true. And Thaksin is wellknown in the media to try to control them and write whats good for him, he simply dont like critics.
At the moment there is a lot of Thaksin articles during the current situation, but I guess it will be back to other headlines soon.
(BTW, The Nation news feed is automatic, I dont select any news, its their headlines that shows up here automatically.)

You dont have to read them. I think it is easy to avoiding clicking on news with The Nation in the title. Or did I misunderstood something?
Phuket Gazette or Bangkok Post dont have any news feeds, so I have only one available for news.

BTW, I dont read all news myself, just the headlines (titles) give me a picture of the current situation/headlines. To keep track of whats going on.

I read his post again, "new posts screen". Well it may be maxium 4-5 of these posts each time, I can understand its a nuisance but its not that many of them. If there was too many I would probably turn the feed off altogether. (I dont want a news spam)

Just making sure
As has been said in this section before, good news is no news. Also maybe Thaksin is one of those politicians who generates negative opinions about himself.
I noticed that The Nation was also being quoted a lot in this section. Nicke is doing it well, as you can easily work out from the headline and the first couple of sentences whether or not you want to read the article.

I'm with you there IJ, absolutely no interest in politics. They are all a bunch of brain dead morons.
As for the news feeds, dont read them myself just ignore them. BUt would be better if they were posted by a separate user, so then that user could be ignored, as we dont want to add Nicke to an ignore user list.

ARL stands for Australian Rugby League and AFL stands for Australian Football League
Does the following apply to the
ARL OR AFL?
This is good !!!!
36
have been accused of spousal abuse
7
have been arrested for fraud
19
have been accused of writing bad checks
117
have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses
3

Neither,
it's the 535 members of the AUSTRALIAN PARLIAMENT IN CANBERRA
The
same group of Idiots that crank out hundreds of new laws each year
designed to keep the rest of us in line.
The best description of politics I have ever read!!!!!

Its one thing to not have any interest in politics in a country where things are run pretty much on the level..
But wacky tacky has thugs out starting viiolence.. I for one dont belie this bomb thing and tink its a total scheme to crack down on demonstrators.. Quotes from senuior security say that taxin has basicaly sad hat anti taxin rallies must be stopped..
I guess the next step in taxin thugs to pretend to be PAD demonstratrs and stat violence causing serious crackdown on any dissent..
You may not really care about politics (how can you not care wo makes the laws and controls you) but 3rd world politics is a lot more in your face.. It wasnt so long ago that the army used live rounds on 1000s of students.. Isnt escalating violence and regime change kind of important ??

CS, you are nailing the main problem of politics in Thailand. This is information. Information is a controlled medium in Thailand, especially with the present government. Therefor is it important that as much as possible info is being extended to the whole country, including the poorer areas, Isarn springs to mind.
Thaksin is presenting them with a form of democraty where you vote and then you leave absolut power to the winner of the majority vote. Public participation, freedom of speech, checks and balances etc. are not seem as part of this democraty.
As for myself, I am very much interested in the political situation in Thailand and follow as much as possible. I think that the news feed is good as it gives a little different dimension to the forum.
