Is this to be considered as a job?....
Am planning to live in LOS in January 2007 and as part of my "re-conditioning" I want to start again painting....I have many friends who said to me that if I start again painting they would be happy to buy some of my "stuff"..... My question is...If I paint and sell to my farang friends is this to be considered as a job???? Am sure somebody among the BMs got an answer....

Thanks for the advice Dawsey...would tend to agree with you as I will consider it more of a hobby than anything else....and if people want to buy...might be converted in a good dinner with a good old french wine

You will find that it is work. The wording is something like, "any work including intellectual". All it takes is for some local artist to find out and put you in.

As said technically it is work.. But then so is everything.
The rules here are written so badly.. They use the word they are defining in the definition and the definition is so broad (any task a Thai could do with or without renumeration) includes driving my car, walking the dog, doing the garden (actually Burmese handle that) etc etc etc that the actual law becomes useless. I have come to the realisation now that the Thais like to have inneffective and lose legal definitions so that the interpretation can be left up to people on the ground so that they can collect T money.
