Kings Birthday Holiday - What operates, what doesn't?
Hi guys
I am planning a trip to LOS & Vietnam around the time of the Kings Birthday Holiday (December 5). Just trying to get an idea of which services operate on the Holiday. The Airport operates 24-7 I imagine? And the same with hotel staff? Are most taxi drivers working on that day? What about buses, and minibus operators? Could I get easily get from Pattaya to the airport on that day? What about the night before? Will everything close at midnight? And will a BG want to stay with me on December 5 - or is this a day to spend in a more solemn way for the Thais. I want to do the right thing by their custom.... Or should I just try to plan it so I am in Vietnam on that day? Sorry about so many questions....Any info would be great

Kings - Birthday - only thing affected is ALL alcohol sales are banned during this day and night - the night before is unaffected.
Everything else is open/operating as per normal. (Banks, Gov offices, stock market closed) - money changers open.

Parties
This year is a bigger one than normal for the King's birthday as it is also linked to his 60th year on the throne.The Thais may all want to attend the temple etc.
 Sometimes people put on or arrange private picnics and parties as the bars are closed.
