Faulty Towers Bar - Burger

This may be a boring thread to most, however for those that are striving to find a great burger in Phuket..... today I found it!

I went down to Faulty Towers for lunch as I wanted to stop in at Crustasians place and try out the food.

I order the Faulty Towers Burger, beef, lettuce, onion, bacon, cheese & egg....

Out it comes in front of me and I feel a big smile come across my face. About the same size as a kids football/soccerball, sitting there for about 20 seconds, thinking how I was going to attack this monster. First bite and the juices from the egg and beef burger running down my hands and wrists.....

After 30 minutes, a couple of drinks I had to resign myself to the fact that I couldn't finish this mammoth.

All I can say, a bloody great burger for a great price. Crustasian, well done mate on some great food in your restaurant. Maybe need to increase the price to cover the amount of tissue/napkins that you need to use to finish this thing.

I'll refer people for sure and will be interested to see what I'll try and attack next on the menu.

Cheers.

Crusty's chef does some wonderful scoff and the Thai dishes are good too as my TG really liked them and she's fussy about eating Thai food "outside" the house.

I've offered Crusty several thousand Dinar to try and poach his chef (That sounds wrong!) anyway......Poach his chef away from Faulty Towers and over to Baggers.

Funnily enough his chef and Crusty weren't having any of it but still made me some brilliant nose bag while I was over there last. I think I ate more at FT than anywhere else. Good fish IMHO.

The chef is a genius - he makes a fantastic gankarey gai (even though its not on the menu)

Just about finished off a Faulty Burger - excellent - gets my vote too.

PadMc was up there yesterday - wolfed down one - went to shower and came back an hour later for a second - impressive.

To top it off met someone who managed to down THREE Big Boys Milkshakes and still drank on .... very impressed for sure !

My personal recommendations are the chili con carne (never yet managed to finish it) and the spaghetti carbonara. Absolutely wonderful stuff.

Great and huge burger.. I am a big eater and yet to those that make it through 2 of them.. We salute you !!

One + fries and I am beat..

Its not only the size, but nicely crisped, good fresh salad etc.. My no1 burger in town and most things on the menu are well made.

Also echo the comments above about the Thai food being good.. Can take the GF and she is happy and thats not normal in a place that does thai and farang grub..

We all got a cheque in the post today Jonny. Yours must be on it's way to Cork. We've not tried cashing them in yet! The signature on mine looks like D. Duck! 555555555

I think when im over next. I'll order a burger and see if I can get a doggy bag to carry the other half away! Then I can get 2 days worth of food out of it!

That will leave more money for liquids at night!

I enjoyed everything I had there, from spaghetti to the hamburger to the steak to a meal of chicken fingers.

Can only confirm all the positive feedback about the food.
Went inside the 1st time this year cause Petter recomended it for the big burger. Went over tried and came back a couple days later.
As for the other food. I`ve got 2 kids who are difficult eaters but the youngest one (5) ate togheter from the burger with me and the oldest (6) finished her mash and fingerfish, second time she had the spaghetti. They both loved the food.
The kids are still small and can not finish everything cause it`s so many.
So daddy had to give it an extra effort. I finished my faulty burger with fries the young daughters small burger and the spaghetti of the old daughter.
Thought I would explode after that meal.

Only one complaint I have about the Faulty burger.

How are you supposed to go on the swill afterwards with that thing inside your stomach?
