Phuket's most exclusive restaurant
Hello everybody
I just want to know if somebody here nows good restaurant on the Island.
I will be in Phuket end of the year and i'm looking for a "luxury" place. Once in the holiday my family likes to go eat at a nice place, because my father just like the service that a good restaurants can offer. And also the pricey winelist...
I already know the Baan Rim Pa (patong) and the Boathouse(kata), do you knew some others like those 2 ??
thanks for any advices

The Watermark at the Marina is up market - even better when they have a good live band on - not been up that way in over 2 years tho.
Urtheman (BM here) old place Silk in Surin is one of the best places for great wine list and good food/service as well.

La Mousson in Chalong, French kitchen.
Heard the Belgian Eddy Van Maele is buildinng in Kathu. If it is true, this will be top. Won't be cheap. The guy is famous and Michelin star quality.

If you are up for a trek then go to Baba's at Sri Panwa.
Baan Yin Dee on the hill in Patong has great views.
Silk is good - nice Royal Thai food.
Rockfish also has picturesque views and good food.
My favourite eating place is Fashion Cafe in Chalong but it is not really romantic - great food and good price though.

For nice views with over priced food and poor presentation go to Baan Rim Pa, Silk in Surin is great (one of my favourites, kicks the **** out of baan rim pa any day if you ask me) By the end of the year the new restaurants at the Burasari hotel should be finished, one will be floyds's serving continental food and another will be a thai concept restaurant also serving its own infused vodka's, those two will definitely be worth checking out as well. There's supposed to be a nice hill top restaurant in kata, not too sure about the name though also meant to be quite good.

Pub Pla on the hill - views are great (go at sunset) - did'nt think the food was value for money; maybe went on an off day. Definitely romantic though.

Best restaurant I have been to on the island is Ka Jok See in Phuket Town.....great Thai + western food and a great night out.....plenty of locals + expats as well....hardly any tourists
It's hidden away in a small laneway called Takuha Pa......well worth the visit IMHO......

Been there once too - very unusual - looks and feel like a Chinese antique shop and they had a after dinner dance .... very old world. Celine (Swiss-French as I recall) was an excellent host. Reservations a must here.

Great restaurant and very interesting... Reminds me of a very much condensed version of dragoni in Hong Kong. At about 9.30 - 10pm the lights dim and the music gets louder, dancing on tables, anything goes, although i was a little put off last time i was there by a gay guy dancing half naked in a sarong on top of one of the tables touching himself
Besides that, great atmosphere (very friendly), good food, as stated above, well worth a visit, def an experience...

My recomendations
I live in the north part of the island so I might leave out a few in the south in don't know.
Weaves restaurant in Surin beach my restaurant that I run. We will be very soon one of the top restaurants on the island. We are not quite there yet but very soon.
Silk has a very nice atmosphere and the food is better than Baan Rim Pa but not tooo sure about the service anymore.
Ka JOc see in Phuket town is a must for both the food and atmosphere(good luck finding it)
Lim's which is a little past Kalim is a very good thai modern restaurant.
Watermark is good for the partying
Also in patong I have to admit I like a restaurant called La Diva's I think it has pretty good Thai food and good atmosphere it's off Rat a Tit road.
Good luck hope to see you at Weaves!

I really wouldn't recommend rockfish... They have no idea what they're doing.

I know Celine opened a restaurant in Phuket town. Thought the name was something with Indigo in it. I must have been wrong.
Celines husband Claude is the GM of Cape Panwa hotel, he is Swiss, Celine is French.
Her sister Cathy is maried to Arkon, a Thai guy and excellent coock from Isan and they own the "Flavours" restaurant in the Baan Thai Hotel. Good restaurant. They started with "the wall" and then moved to "Flavours" in a development between Patong and Kamala.

Kaa Joc See is really a nice restaurant for tourists and what you have to do is call them go to phuket town and then have a motorcycle taxi lead you to the restaurant (that's what I did)
The atmosphere is really good and they have shows as well.
I'm not a big dancer but Celine will push the tables to the side and everyone dances most people like that, I don't, I like my dancers on a pole not samba
