60 day tourist visa (from UK)
I'm getting contradictory info. from Thai officials and the UK Thai embassy website.
Can somebody who has already had a 60 day tourist visa tell me what they had to have in the form of paperwork.
I was going to go in to the embassy when I was in London and the guy on the phone told me that all I needed was my passport and 2 photographs. I will probably do a postal application now. However when I look at the website they seem to list things such as the plane ticket. I don't fancy sending my passport and plane ticket in the post.
What have other Bms done in the past?

Why are you going to all the trouble of going to the Embassy? I've always used the Thai Consul in Birmingham and done it by post. You only need send the visa application form, passport, couple of pics and a prepaid registered envelope for them to send it back to you usually within 3 days.
If you need a form give them a call and they'll fax or post one to you. They are very efficient and I've never had a problem or delay and got 5 or 6 visas in the last few years that way.

I am going to apply for a 60 days visa too in the next weeks.
I called the Thai consulate here in Geneva and they told me they can issue the visa in one day I just have to bring, 2 pics, valid passport, the form and a confirmation of my flight to and from thailand. (I guess they wanna make sure you leave the country after 60 days). The cost is 45 CHF (about 30 euros).

Send it recorded delivery/registered post (cannot remember which one does what) and as for the plane ticket, what happens if you have an e-ticket ? I wonder...

Thanks for that - looks like there is no need to send the plane ticket according to land of smiles (thanks for the post LOS), that is what I wanted to hear. I was aware of a consulate in Hull but not in Brum.

No you don't have to have a flight booked or send a ticket. Give them a call if you need forms. They don't bite and they are English. I've also heard nothing but good things about the Hull office too but as I've always had good service from the Birmingham one, never bothered to change.

I doubt Gez has put his hand in his (suit) pocket for a printer though...

How wrong can you be
I have a DELL printer, but use it as little as possible due to the high cost of cartridges
